I’m not going to vouch for Hety, however his ODI record is still better than Bravo who has only managed 4 100s in 122 matches!
Why would the selectors pick someone 34 yrs old with that record??? There’s no upside, his time has come and gone!
My guess is Hety was selected because Pooran opted out! Or, maybe Pooran tried to help Bravo’s cause by withdrawing!
If I’m not mistaken Evan Lewis had a similar season to Hety a few years ago and I don’t recall anyone saying he shouldn’t be selected!
