Donald Trump fraud verdict: $364 million penalty in New York civil fraud case

A New York judge ruled Friday against Donald Trump, imposing a $364 million penalty over what the judge ruled was a yearslong scheme to dupe banks and others with financial statements that inflated the former president’s wealth.

Trump also was barred from serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation for three years.

Judge Arthur Engoron issued his decision after a 2½-month trial that saw the Republican presidential front-runner bristling under oath that he was the victim of a rigged legal system.

The stiff penalty was a victory for New York Attorney General Letitia James, a Democrat, who sued Trump over what she said was not just harmless bragging but years of deceptive practices as he built the multinational collection of skyscrapers, golf courses and other properties that catapulted him to wealth, fame and the White House.

Trump’s lawyers had said even before the verdict that they would appeal.

Still the best candidate for carrying the GOP ticket.

Actually, still a great candidate for taking over the RNC and installing family members in leadership positions.

Engoron, who ruled before the trial that Trump and his co-defendants committed fraud with his financial statements, found Trump liable on five of the six remaining claims in James’ lawsuit: falsifying business records, issuing false financial statements, conspiracy to commit insurance fraud and conspiracy to falsify business records.

Unfortunately The Donald is on a death spiral

He owes

Trump Hawks Gold, Self-Branded $399 Sneaker as Legal Fees Mount

(Bloomberg) -- Donald Trump is marketing a self-branded $399 metallic gold high-top sneaker after being ordered by a New York judge to pay $364 million for lying about his wealth.

The “Never Surrender” sneakers, which have a bold-faced letter T on the side, sold out in less than a day after Trump’s appearance at “Sneaker Con” in Philadelphia on Saturday, according to the website. It said 1,000 pairs will be produced, with a limit to three per customer. At least 10 will be autographed by Trump, the website says.

#45's athleticism should serve as in inspiration.

Sorry, didn't notice that this item was being discussed on another thread.

Theoretically, for Trump to be able to pay the $355 million with just his sneaker profits, he would have to sell approximately 889,725 pairs of the "Never Surrender High Top" sneakers. There is a more moderately priced athletic shoe at $199. The former president would need to sell about 1,783,920 pairs of the athletic shoes to pay off his
