West Indies vs England, 1st ODI - 2.00 pm
The highest-ever total at the venue batting first is 325 which was coincidentally made by England in the last series between the two teams in December 2023. It was also successfully chased down by West Indies. That game apart, the venue hasn't been quick-scoring and hasn't witnessed big totals. Scores in the 275-300 range have been competitive and the trend should continue.

West Indies have won the toss and have opted to field
We're going to bowl first, with this overhead that we have, we want to utilise it best. Conditions could change, want to bat later. We could always improve in all three departments. First we need to adapt to these conditions, Sri Lanka was totally different. One change, Hetmyer comes back. We have to look at the present and make sure we cover our bases but the bigger picture is the 2027 WC.
Leh we go West Indies
We would've bowled first too. Looks a good pitch, hopefully gets slower later. We've got a group of young boys here, great opportunity for us. We've got 4 debuts. Really exciting day for them, looking forward to that. It gives new boys opportunities and that's what this tour is about. We obviously want to win but want to give some new guys opportunities.

Yeah, Holder sounds good and articulate in his comments so far.
As for the England team, I'm don't recognise half the names. Curran at six? If that's true, IMHO that's one place too high for him.
"63m and 62m square boundaries, 74m down the ground. Strong winds coming in from the East. Last 5 games here have been won by the chasing side. Has been a good batting surface. It looks very well prepared, grass is cut very low and its rolled in nicely. Aesthetics look very good. Should be good for 260 or more" suggest Ian Bishop and Nikhil Uttamchandani.

Jayden Seales to Philip Salt, out Caught by Alzarri Joseph!! Terrific catch from Alzarri Joseph! Length delivery on off-stump, Salt looked to loft this on the up. No footwork and all hands, it hit him high on the bat and floated over mid-off. Alzarri Joseph turned and ran back, kept his eyes on the ball and stretched out both hands to take it as it came over his shoulder. He made it look so easy, great athleticism from the fast bowler. West Indies have got their first breakthrough.

10.3
Jayden Seales to Will Jacks, out Caught by Motie!! Seales has a second! Jacks departs after a decent start. Full and straight on middle, just seemed to straighten a touch, Will Jacks was looking to lift it over mid-wicket and closed the face of the bat too early. Ended up getting a leading edge that spooned up, went over the bowler and both mid-off and mid-on converged. Motie running in from mid-on managed to cling on after there seemed to be a little confusion about who's catch it was. Both openers back in the shed now

Forde to Bethell, out Caught by Brandon King!! There goes another and the story is very similar! Every time the English batters have looked for a big shot, they've perished. Here goes Bethell too after getting off to a start. Length delivery on off-stump from round the wicket, Bethell hung back looking to heave it away across the line and over mid-wicket. The lack of pace from the wicket comes through again and it doesn't come on to the bat, hits the toe end and lobs up towards the covers where it's taken easily. England in some real trouble now.

Ian Bishop did not say this, it was Nikhil. Misinfo again! Indoor cricket stadiums is a great but expensive idea. Perhaps one with a retractable roof but these are very expensive projects that Caribbean governments can ill afford unless they get outside funding. England, Australia, India for sure.

Livingstone to Lewis, FOUR, that's drilled! that's drilled! That was clubbed hard. Tossed up ball, not much dip, Lewis got under it and slammed it over cover. The man at long-off ran a few paces to his right but failed to even get close. Lewis continues to get to those timely boundaries

Shitloads of time for Keacy Carty. He got technique. Watch how he guides the ball square of the wicket. He must be persisted with in odis.
Adil Rashid went up for an LBW appeal. Again did it land outside leg? Was that a googly?
Has landed outside leg. Rashif and England just wanted a desperate review.

The conditions were different in SL. It was spinning more there. I wasn't getting much turn. I was trying to keep the balls in straight lines. Runs weren't coming from both the ends and it helped me. We had a training day yesterday and we were trying to figure out the pace.
We need to get the rhythm of the 50 overs cricket. We know someone from top 6 has to get a top score. 50 overs is a long time. We were trying to put the Windies team under pressure but couldn't. I don't think we adapted well. We lost wickets at key stages. Every one saw what Turner is all about. Not a lot of people have seen him. Unfortunately, couldn't get a wicket..
The pacers set the tone. The opening bowlers picking up wickets set the tone. We just need to be more consistent. Consistency and discipline were major factors today. Lewis has been around for a long time. He is very hungry. He has come in fresh here. Glad he is batting well.
Congrats WI, I love when any WI team gives ‘ol England a best down
