James had an excellent game against the Pride. In the previous four games he was sparingly utilized. My opinion needs more FC experience to develop consistency and the confidence of his captain. Also needs to play on flat pitches to develop a bowling process when facing adversity. If he continues with the improvement seen, he could well be a future standout.

Well, Bishop is having a lot of success, but it would be good to see him out of the Caribbean, last year when the Academy toured Ireland, in the 3-day matches he took only one wicket. The star on that tour was Layne, and he is having a good tournament so far.

I am seeing Layne for the first time. Both he and Bishop should be in the Pride squad next year.

Layne seems to be pretty quick,he was in Stephenson academy with Bethell .

Who are the Barbados batsman that I should be following? part from Wickham I am yet to see any that get my attention.

Layne has been the pick of the quicks in this tournament. His batting surprises me. At some point in time he was well coached keeping a still head during his stroke play. With that said, he has a tendency to unjustifiably fling his bat.

Bishop will have a difficult time making the B/dos team when Warrican is available, it will be like what has happened to Nedd, the third leading wicket-taker in last year tournament who cannot make the Guyana team because Permaul and Motie are available. However, Layne should be in the B/dos team, he is an upgrade over Macallister

I don't know what to tell you, I am still looking. I had hope for the 2 Joshuas, Dorne and Morris. Dorne has regressed some much and Morris has moved to Wanderer after last year u19.Maybe our friend Seaegg have seen/ knows.

Is not Jediah Blades Bajan?

He reminds me of Pedro Colins.

They are two different left-hand spinners. Bishop is more a wrist spinner than a finger spinner, have a look at him.

Barbados has nearly 20-25 players participating in the tournament. The CCC and the academy provide a great opportunity for young talent. Kyle Corbin, who is the same age as Kraigg Brathwaite and Jason Holder, is an opener for CCC. He is one of only two youngsters who have scored a century and has performed well so far. It's disappointing to see the other young players struggle in the tournament.

Josh Morris is a batsman / WK for last year u19, he scored the most runs in the red and white u19 for Bim, but it seems as if he performed below expectation in the elite div.

I thought that Corbin was the best of the Lodge Boys- Brooks and Kyle Hope.

I only saw a video of him bowling a single delivery that bowled the batsman and………..drum roll…….the thought did cross my mind.

I noticed that last season in the few matches in which James played. Some other players with occasional suspicious actions are Matthew Forde and Jeremiah Louis.

Fast track Joshua James into the A team, ideally. He looks like he has the tools but we need to see it again and on a flatter surface.

Johann Layne is probably the closest to the test squad from those on the outside, he will make his debut before too long and hopefully, will develop into a very good international player. He bowls like a quicker version of Jason Holder, which would something different from Seales and Shamar Joseph. Those three may well form a potent attack for many years to come.

imusic 2025-03-15 22:14:30

First time seeing James. He has potential. Can perhaps develop into a Joel Garner type bowler

The A team would be a good place to provide him with some international experience.

Just a video of Pitman of WIA getting 2 wickets on consecutive deliveries, first swinging in to lefthander and trapping him LBW, and second clean bowling the right handed Jason Mohammed for first ball duck with a wicked inswinger. Obviously can move the ball both ways with accuracy.
Action looks very clean.

All three Layne, Pitman and James were on the Academy team a couple of years ago. They all have different approaches. Layne have always been ahead just because he like Seales can keep pressure on batsmen for over after over. Pittman seems the quickest while James is improving. This past game on a fast bowlers wicket he was great. Hopefully he continues to stay more focused and he have experienced fast bowlers around him.

I guess many was not really watching the Academy team because they were all there developing. Just like Anderson, Imlach, McKenzie nd Wickham were the middle order of 2023 Academy team.

Not Imlach I think. He was already in Guyana team in 2023 but had a pretty forgettable year I think

He was a replacement for Rivaldo Clarke back then.

The Academy is doing the job it seems.
