Can’t say Chase is not a record breaker.
Lost debut series as captain 0-3
Now this.
I eagerly anticipate the beatitudes PM Mottley will bestow upon him on this momentous occasion.

To be fair, I expect this to be more of a strategy by teams going forward; especially in these ultra short formats. Its very limited balls and each one counts. Sammy is a trailblazer in this regard
Well. Chase knows when to go, people should respect him for that

I don’t see anything wrong with the strategy to retire chase out. He wasn’t getting the job done
Where the strategy is highly questionable is sending Chase in to bat at the fall of Athanaze’s wicket in the first place.
If you’re looking for someone to play the spinners…….send in Holder. He’s arguably a bettter batsman than Chase anyway.
Or even send in Motie.
It also begs the question, what is Carty’s role in the team? He’s obviously a specialist batsman that comes in when?
I give SOME grace because the team is missing a lot of their first choice batters…..Lewis, Hetmeyer, King, Powell……that’s a tough one for sure.
But the way this team was setup…..particular the batting order in all of the matches……it seemed like it was all done by guess and not deliberate strategy.
If it WAS deliberate strategy, that’s even more concerning.

As a coach you want to show faith in your players and Chase was picked primarily as a batter. Sometimes its just not your day and you are not in that rhythm required. Yesterday was Chase another time it might be Hope or anyone for that matter.
But I agree, the strategy to send Chase, having seen 2 games prior, when you had an opportunity to maybe send Motie or even Shepherd would have probably made more of an impact.
