Thats why Jamaica pull out of the Federation....
Is shite like that!!!!
Ken Gordon has chosen a Trini, because he is planning to move the headquarters of the WICB to Trinidad.
Roland Toppin turned down the job, because the board had promised to move the headquarters to Barbados where Toppin with a young family wanted to be based.
That didn't come through, so Toppin turned down the job due to "previously unforeseen" personal reasons.

Corporate Services Manager (Tony Deyal) - Trini

In reply to Bestian
My reliable source tells me you have it slightly backwards. Toppin wanted to remain in Barbados and run the Board from there. After accepting the job, he then tried to get the Board to agree to him remaining in Barbados. The guy knew the conditions when he took the job and then sought to vary it after.

Aanessen came from Private business. Was big cheese at Royal Bank. President of Roytec, GM - Group Human Resources wit dat bank
Former Insurance Exec
Secretary at Queens Park Cricket Club
Well known and respected in business circles in T&T and wider Caribbean.
Manager of T&T Soca Warriors 2005 WCQ campaign and 2006 WC appearance.
As far as I know, his only affiliation with Jack Warner is that Warner aka TTFF hired him as team manager right after we drew with Costa Rica in T&T (same time Bertille St Clair was fired and Leo Beenhakker hired).
He eh no Jack Warner stooge.

We will deal summarily and harshly off field with any feeble attempts by those peewats to be rude to their masters same as we deal with them on field.

He is not the secretary of QPCC, he is currently the Vice President. Ian Stone is the secretary.

Chrissy is right - Wonderful qualifications, but Warner is like a virus, once he infects you become "silly nilly" and soon you lose your sense of perspective and commonsense - Things which seemed so clear now become totally twisted like a cow on datur - You become a knight, not a pawn, in the service of a man without morality, a saint of darkness, a talker of . . . ., a believer in self and the self, always in service of mutiple and single "selves".
That he has pedigree, there is no doubt, that he has been infected there is no doubt, that this will turn out okay, we can only pray - Let him disconnect the line to the creepy one, then maybe he wil be OK - but although he is an aged and learned man, suppose Gordon becomes a Lequay-Warner, will Bruce now develop the capacity for independent thinking? Worse, yet, if Warner fails at his local grandiose scheme, might Bruce facilitate his (plan B) entry into the sport that we now love-may I be taken away like Enoch before i see that
In reply to Larr Pullo Well when Rousseau headed deh board there were many Jmaicans brought in, so wah is deh big deal provided they do deh bloody job.

I edited my post bro.
In reply to jaydee
No - I was wrong on this one.
In reply to Chrissy
hmmmmmmmm . . . payola?
In reply to Chrissy
It is commendable that you can change your mind - however, i take this opportunity to remind you that prospective kings and monarchs always have supposedly independent advocates - like the Clintons - you work for them, you are independent at first, but then you get sucked in - then its hard to see what's really wrong or right
-many many of his statements during the build up were not neutral - AND he remained silent even though there remains a massive accounting error with the football association
- he remained silent through the vindictive ticketing fiascos - (and lets be trivial here) he remained silent as ushers outside the stadia did the bidding of the want to be King
- You are wrong to think you are wrong
- but your change of mind does nothing to make me believe that this is not another step in the plan of an ambitious controller of pawns, knights, and bishops - the knight might be a respected banker, a pawn by daylight- ![]()
In reply to imusic
Huhhhh When that ever happens?
BTW QPCC is no model for West Indian cricket in my mind.
QPCC is basically a "Country Golf Club" in the cricket business.
until cricket in the Caribbean takes on a more Democratic and less Autocratic approach....its doomsday all ova again.
In reply to redbaron
thats right tell all ah dem to pay respects to their TRINI masters
In reply to jaydee
I am watching di proceedings and will give him the benefit of the doubt until I have facts. I am fully aware of the ticket fiasco but that was all Warner.
In reply to terminator
What FCKng WE...Ordinary Trinis can't even pass near to those elitists QPCC scunts....
Trini take ova is not that bad.
Here its Old Money Trinis take ova....Johnny Walker Blue drinking sknts....here comes Disaster.

In reply to Tagwa1
Bruce Aanansen drinks red rum and soda not Johnny walker anything.I am amazed at how unpleasant ,prejudiced and obnoxious the majority of contibutors to this board are.The man hasnt taken up the job yet and already people who know nothing about him are writing nonsense on this Board. And yes he will be going to Antigua .
In reply to doublecentury
Red Rum..Blue..who cares.
The point is. The Chairman had a chance to do something about this WICB that would integrate it, that would democratize it endear it to the region.
The WICB does not have the national fervor that can be put to cloak class and other contradictions like "Soca Warriors" could. The WI cricket team is made up of a bunch of countries with their own tensions.
So the WICB must be the body to integrated the sport and mitigate these tensions, create an integrated board and management team that is representitive of all at some level.
But what does the Chairman do...goes straigt to a Class based Trini cronnie and install him.
The Colonial Legacy of cricket is alive and well. Bwoy..Where is CLR when you need him.
[]In reply to Tagwa1
So your problem with Aanansen is based on race ,class and colour? The fact that he is well qualified for the job is irrelevant to you.You dont know him but have all these prejudices and you wonder why WI cricket is insular and in trouble.Same reason why Aanansen said he wasnt interested in the job (because of the divisiveness that exists at every level) and only agreed after Toppin withdrew(when he realised he did have to go to Antigua) and there was a dirth of suitable candidates.
In reply to doublecentury
This man's qualifications looks as Platinum to you.
The best of the best.....in our region.
No wonder...I understand...Lets leave it there.
the best man for the job is chosen
so what if is from T&T...
We will deal summarily and harshly off field with any feeble attempts by those peewats to be rude to their masters same as we deal with them on field.
