Rayard Emrith- New Bim Cappo for CL

Emir 2014-09-06 13:49:10

Congratulations Ray, I wish you all the best, although it will be near impossible to win without Malik, Pollard and Smith,

With such low expectations, your boys will be under no pressure and its an ideal time to catch a few teams off guard like the Mumbai boys.

It is unfortunate the organizers refused the Tridents request to replace the trio with Sammy, Evin Lewis and Shahid Afridi

Go Tridents Go.

HUH?

Emir 2014-09-06 14:25:17

In reply to cherri

A request was made, they were told they cannot, the option is to replace the trio with uncapped players who did not make the original draft

strong women opposite your personality

I notice yuh quite skilled at the subtleties - is that from the experience of receiving?

Since when yuh is begging fi Cherri...my interactions are always respectful ribbings while you are known for running away females...Dekkah stop post because of u and I never got that invitation to the Sunday dinner...'cause of u.

cherri 2014-09-06 16:04:54

In reply to HumbleCalf

Why should I know about that .....if the people that running the Tridents did not know that Sammy and Lewis would not be eligible to play for them they have no right being involved in the tournament, and with regards to Afridi...well that is a whole other set of dotishness right there, like the man said, if Malik cayn get into India, Indian wife and all, what make them think that Afridi can......in response to you asking if I did not know about that.....why should I know about it? I ent have nutten to do wid the Tridents......

Now the poster may be right yuh never know from one day to the next what will happen in relation to cricket in the region........so doan bother bout me, follow Emir, he will keep you updated............

Emrith is the correct spelling.

Thanks Man- I wasn't sure about the spelling of Ray's last name but Ms Black was wrong.

Emir 2014-09-06 22:02:50

In reply to archangel

The issue isn't about clearance, if anything, New Delhi would love to give Shahid a visa as he is folk hero in Pakistan and the Modi administration would want to score points by approving his visa.

Malik has no such visa problems he has an indefinite entry- I know because I have a PIO card by virtue of marriage to an Indian Citizen, similar to Shoaib's satus.

I am not familiar with that outlet or any other for that matter in the region, but the spelling you assigned seems to be a creolized version of a linguisticallly Turko-Arabic name

I did not assign anything Sir

Your spelling did not look right so I went to the Gaurdian and checked

Emir 2014-09-06 22:14:29

In reply to black

But Ms Blacks, you are checking a source that is also wrong- the blind leading the blind.

As a Caribbean person you should know many non slave master names are creolized?

Take for example, Santokie for Santosh and Akeal Hosein for Hussain just to mention two example.

Emir 2014-09-06 22:16:40

In reply to Narper

"Should your handle not be Amir"

"Amir" seems a Pakistani version of a Turko-Arabic name

lol lol

Turko-Mongol. The slaves of the Mongols took their masters' names; Khan being the most prominent.

Puppa Jesus lol lol lol

Emir 2014-09-07 12:56:59

In reply to GCCBourda

Not true- the Mongols who were murderous reformed themselves-accepted a new faith and took the name of the people they had previously colonized- you have it backwards.

The Turks were always the turks- they haven't taken anybody's name.

GCCBourda 2014-09-07 13:10:17

In reply to Emir

Ghengis Khan, Kublai Khan etc. took "Khan" from the Indians and Chinese? You're in denial.

Emir 2014-09-07 13:24:56

That's right, they did- it is what I said.

You all are wrong,Emrith is the correct spelling of that name, whether the Guardian says so or not it's the wrong spelling. It's the spelling the Colonial masters gave to the fore fathers when they came off the boat in the early 19th century. There are many other names that were given British sounds and spelling.Emrith is a name of Muslim background and in that world is spelt EMRITH.
There are a number of Indo names that are spelt wrong,a few springs to mind,I will write the Caribbean version,EMRITT,PERSAUD,PAUL,KERNAHAN,LUTCHMAN,I can go on.
Asian version,EMRITH,PRASAD,PAL(Chanderpaul)KHANAHAN,LAXMAN.My name has also been fakked up by the whiteman, and people always ask, where did you get that Irish name.

Nobody gives a rats ass as you say,but history is a subject that teaches us about the past, and if an arguement is to be resolved we can resolve it by going back to the past. It's not going to change anything,it's just a mild form of a debate, conversation etc.

We have a unique culture in Trinidad, and also a unique History, moreso than the other islands,I always like checking the past. When I was a boy at school my surname was always a topic for my friends, all in a nice way,it was then I started wondering about some Indo names, like the ones i mentioned.I was told by some elders, and some very educated Indians that, the names were mis-spelt by the Colonial masters to give it a European sound, not all could be done in that way,but many were.

Dude, that is what they (powers that be) presented to me

And I believe the young fella accepted it as such

Who are you and I to change that?

mikelegend 2014-09-07 14:45:16

By the way, MY fore parents were probably YOUR 'colonial masters '...I am so sorry that they may have caused you and your family to come to such a state of disarray.

Emir 2014-09-07 14:53:30

No, you came from a salve master raping a slave woman, you were never accepted and were (are) considered illegitimate, so don't fool your self.

Oh really now??!! You ignorant ass!!! You haven't the slightest clue of who I am or my background, but you have the audacity to proclaim that I am the product of a raped slave woman??? You really want to go that route with me ??
