Holder for Taylor....
In reply to Larr Pullo
People might think there's a conspiracy in place to replace Tayrol. Making reference to all them dropped catches with Tayrol being most affected.
In reply to Drapsey
How many Gayle drop off him?
In reply to Larr Pullo
Why would that change the context of my post?
At my age, I feel like I could stand up and play shots against Gabriel. Some of the strangest people play Test cricket these days.
_r
Since that first test in JA against NZ Taylor bowling has not been that good
In reply to Admin
Can't teach pace boss. You still think you could play shots?
In reply to OneUp
That's odd, since he got 4 wickets at 16.25 in Jamaica in the 1st test (a WI loss), and then 6 at 17.83 in TnT against NZ in the 2nd test (a WI win). So I guess you mean not since the 2nd test in TnT?
This would be his 2nd test since that match.
In reply to Larr Pullo
Pace my rass. Tino Best got pace too. None of them taking my wicket.
_r
In reply to JahJah
Exactly...only a fool would drop Taylor, especially for someone with less pace, like Holder.
I wouldn't change a winning team...much.
We don't need seven batsmen against Bangladesh...drop Kirk, bring in Holder.
Our foolish selectors play seven batsmen against Bangladesh, but only six against NZ....
Angel Gabriel's ave now under 35
In reply to mikesiva
So were they wrong both ties?
BTW a bowler could bowl real crap and take a bundle of wickets, or bowl really well, and don't get any.
Taylor leaves a lot to be desired as one of the senior bowlers. If Ravi was still playing Tests he wouldn't even get near the team.
In reply to Larr Pullo
Gabriel vs Ryan would make Brett Lee vs Piers Morgan look like an even contest.
Ryan would probably pull a Bedi and refuse to face Gabriel anymore
In reply to imusic
Yeah I ent want to attend mah panda funeral.....
In reply to imusic
here you touting you Trini
My only disappointment with Pollo's thread title is that Holder was used instead of Beaton, but I guess Holder was just a placeholder.
In reply to Drapsey
See wot a she how you getting like Batquake?
Ok that's it for Taylor...time to put on the orange vest....
In reply to Larr Pullo
That was a catch?
In reply to sudden
No it was a drop...to be precise...
In reply to Larr Pullo
I can't believe that? That is the C game?
In reply to sudden
poor angel can't get 3 wks.
In reply to sudden
Thank God G. Bravo could still catch...
In reply to Larr Pullo
That Tayrol is a skunt, him drop the catch just suh him could get another chance to bruck him ducks.
In reply to Larr Pullo
Taylor to Mushfiqur Rahim, OUT, goes for the might heave through cow corner, but doesn't quite get this one right as he hits it away a bit more square on the leg side, with Darren Bravo, who took five catches in the previous innings, shows the rest of his team-mates how it is done by taking the catch safely in the end near deep midwicket
Mushfiqur Rahim c Bravo b Taylor 116 (327m 243b 15x4 1x6) SR: 47.73
De man get de BIG wicket....dat is how big temperament bowler do it!!!

In reply to Larr Pullo

In reply to WestDem Concur. Im a believer in JET.
Taylor would be best saved for SA and ODI and some T20.
Holder should get the call. He is fitter, younger and potentially way better.
In reply to BeatDball
What de rass ah hearing from yuh deh?

In reply to Commie
JT need to play and build back stamina...he missed a lot of cricket...Holder should get a game at de expense of Kuk....Play de extra bowler
In reply to WestDem Ah had to do a quick edit sah! U know how peeps does think! But, from get go, i like d fella N he's a darn good batsmen to top it off.
In reply to WestDem
JT will break down again. Its inevitable. And putting him on slow tracks in hot sun will just accelerate that process.
He is a potential match winner in the shorter form of the game, and a good option to have for short bursts on hard wickets, but they have to measure that vs putting Holder out there to dine on some Bangladeshi bats to get a good start to his career before going over to India.
There is alot of cricket to come.
In reply to BeatDball
Ok...it now look good!!! I am also a believer...one ah de best action fuh a quick bowler!
In reply to Commie
If he gonna break down again as you claim, he better bruk down in dis series, cause five consecutive tests should be a cakewalk...What make you think he would less likely to breakdung in the shorter format?
He need to be at his fittest fuh dat India tour!
In reply to Commie
You've been saying the same thing ever since Tayrol returned to playing FC cricket. I guss you're pinning your hopes on the broken clock adage.
In reply to Drapsey Lol.
In reply to tc1... and not the bajan ... don't?
In reply to Admin My thought exactly ever since i have seen this guy. Always short outside off stump, easy shots, square drives all day long, pace doesnt matter. Faster the better.
In reply to Larr Pullo
The big cat promote you to `selector` now I see!
Frenism as usual!
Are you sure you ment `Ravi` and not `Scammy`???
but we talking Bang here ppls. I remember sitting down at a food court hearing Pedro Collins telling me how much wickets he was planning to take against Bang...and he did it! Fast bowlers should be parading here...I really think Holder would. Peters probably they think too old but I like Beaton.
In reply to Drapsey
Because he usually does. We in the same season. Remember that.
In reply to WestDem
regarding the stats for 2014. Who did WI play in 2014?
Answer: NZ and Bang. They lost to NZ HOME. Only Benn and Roach look good with the bulk of the wickets and sub 30 ave.
Benn and Roach clearly need assistance in the wickettaking.
We must try others.
In reply to natty_forever
I haven't said anything
What is the vision of our bowling attack by the think tank of WI cricket for the next 5 years?
3 pacers, 1 spinner, 1 allrounder???
If so, we should build the attack around Jason Holder and Carlos Braithwaite...1 bowler & 1 allrounder spot filled!
Use from the pool of Roach, Taylor, Cottrell, Gabriel, etc as the out and out quicks for the next two fast bowling spots
&
Benn, Permaul, Shillingford, Hosein, Dewar, Bishoo, Narine for the other.
Of course we could look at the option of a spin bowling allrounder or playing two spinners depending on conditions
let's put it this way
Admin will need his own Angel on that day
bones splintering all over is the picture that comes to mind
In reply to analyst-kid
Same Benn who nearly have the same average and worse SR then JT?
Errmm....ok, den!
In reply to 90mph
The same pot uh pumpkin - unless you looking for a salute.
Fast and furious...!
In reply to JahJah
Taylor & Gabriel rested
Holder and another youngster given a shot
Should also rest C'paul,Edwards
In reply to jaip
Like yuh juss get a call? Shiv gotta play...there are 454 reasons why he should play!
In reply to WestDem
Like the BIG Man she
Drop Shiv and prepare for riots.
Isaid REST him NOT drop him
In reply to JahJah
WHAT DOES AVERAGES HAVE TO DO when you are losing as we did against NZ....Benn took more wickets and was a more vital bowler in the wickettaking column than Taylor throughout 2014.
We played NZ and Bang this year...we played NZ home and lost...wickets/averages are the two deciding factors and BENN the spinner outbowled Taylor the frontline fastbowler!
In reply to jaip
Drop Shiv and prepare for riots.
De big man can't seh dis....he know better...why yuh want to rest him yuh skunt? Is he playing too much cricket? Allyuh already retired him from ODI's....nuh mek yuhself a skunt!

In reply to analyst-kid
Taylors numbers don't support him being a frontline fast bowler. With tougher competition to come, the WI has to start looking closely at their bowling attack. At least Gabriel didn't let them score off of him at all.
In reply to Larr Pullo
which means WI went in this match with one frontline fastbowler and one frontline spinner.
WI needs to expose their other fastbowlers. Holder looms in front Taylor becuz Taylor has not shown he is a frontline bowler even against Bang.
In reply to analyst-kid
To me that's an easy call...it could serve to motivate Taylor, and it will help Holder to get ready for the tougher competition.
In reply to analyst-kid/ Pullo
the disgruntled yardies soon come fuh uuna
.Taylor just came back after a long layoff (and allegedly locking neck wid de police at de bar) - pound fuh pound he is still the go too guy instead of Gabriel and Rampaul.
Second test:
Roach
Taylor
Holder
he is more accurate than Gabriel
speed is not everything
Rampaul
If Lloyd wants to introduce a mini four prong, I would suggest he spring fuh Rampaul to be in the mix above.
In reply to TheTrail
Nah Gabriel got to play....
In reply to Larr Pullo
Tailor before tbe Angel, you will.have a leap yer before the Angel gets 2 wks again
In reply to TheTrail
you know yuh cricket, u.ncle Billet and the Fuzz mentored u well
In reply to tc1
As a third seamer Gabriel did his job admirably.
In reply to Larr Pullo
These are very dead wickets. We need 5 bowlers. Drop a batsman.
In reply to Baje
St Lucia will not be as dead as SVG...
In reply to Admin
_r
Spoken like Shiv.
In reply to tc1
but I like Taylor... to me right now the pecking order is
Roach
Rampaul
Holder
Taylor
WI should drop Edwards and Gabriel for Holder and Rampaul.
GIVE your best bowlers the chance to showcase
Keep Cottrell weh he is, in yard. By the way that salute tingy is stupid!
In reply to Larr Pullo
i agreed with you that he did his job today as the 3rd seamer, but he has not prove that he can elevate to no 1 or 2.
Taylor should still be the 2nd seamer.
