Classic Mike Tyson schools reporter today in TO on Live TV
Fcuking Nathan Downer makes a rassklaat stupid remark
"You're a piece of shit"
we gotta get Mikey on CNN
You would think they have a delay on live TV;
why would you in a live interview with Tyson say 'as a convicted rapist'????
In reply to Curtis
Because the guy is a piece of sh*t,as Mike quite " diplomatically " said
In reply to Curtis
way to go mike.. i was sorry i didnt catch it live on Cp24
In reply to Curtis
You know I will say this, so many people try to elevate their careers on the backs of celebrities. The point here is Mike has done the hard work to become who he is, he has also paid his debt to society, why should he continued to be labeled with that tag. Nathan got what he deserved....
In addition, I think there is a level of inconsistency here. When Conrad Black was being interviewed after he left jail, I didn't hear anyone referring to him as a "man convicted of obstruction of justice or as an embezzler". The gave him his own TV show....
Seriously, there was 100 different ways he could have asked that question.
In reply to Curtis
Thats how you deal with asswipes... way to go Mike
Get stuck in there Mikey. Oooooooo, Mikey shoulda knocked that bitch's block off!!!
damn, that guy is lucky mike did not reach into the dark place.
In reply to Curtis
downer was out of line here but tyson should not have responded the way he did on live tv..
new link
Tyson has fought his demons long and hard. He paid his dues, reset his life and built a new family out of the ashes of his very tumultuous years as a professional boxer.
He was very eloquent in that interview. Successfully letting Downer know that a verbal low blow will always be followed by an verbal upper cut.
Why, with all respect, would this Downer chap feel he had to open a very sore wound like that?
Tyson in interview after interview OWNED his faults, paid his dues for his horrible past - but to be blindsided like that - Downer is lucky the "I will eat your heart" did not come back from the deep recesses of Tyson past.
That was a low blow, and you can't tell me the producer did not know that host would have asked that question.
Tyson was very eloquent - and merciful to that POS Nathan Downer.
listen to seconds: 16 - 23
In reply to pelon
Nathan Downer said after he was feeling down at the moment
In reply to Dan_De_Lyan
Boo hoo.
Any self respecting human being that pulls a man down like that - on national TV - and drags a man near 25 years back it to the darkest place of his life SHOULD feel bad. He is a proper skunt: All nice and polished on the outside - but smug with the opportunity to drag a man down.
Shame.
From my opinion Tyson shouldnt have gone off like that
Downer I think for his part was baiting Tyson not because of who Tyson is but because of his association with our mayor Rob Ford. While I think Ford needs to go I think the Toronto media has a hard on for Ford. Tyson endorsed Ford the day before and called him the best mayor Toronto has ever had, hyperbole at its finest. Downer was trying to pull down Mike in an effort to pull down his endorsement of Ford. It just didnt work the way he expected it to.
Like Downer said it was nothing personal..............
its just that Tyson put himself in the way of them getting in a shot at Ford.
Tyson looked really mad,and Mr.Downer took a chance by saying what he said,my God,Tyson looked mad.Lucky fella Mr.Downer.
Down goes Downer. Down goes Downer.
Oh my goodnes. That jackass must be of Jamaican extraction due to the surname. Ah hope there is another half to the hot mess that is he.
Better clip here... it starts from the pleasantries. All smiles.... then the low blow. Catch it before it goes
Downer: "Some of your critics would say, you know, there is a race for mayor, we know you're a convicted rapist, this could hurt his campaign. How would you respond to that?
Tyson: "Hey, um, I don't know who said that, you're the only one I heard say that. You know what I mean? And I don't have no comment to that. You know because it's negative and you're being negative and I met, I met the mayor and nothing they can do about it."
.... what everyone else hears is the cussing ....
Downer: "Is it nerve-wracking for you to do something like this, or is it more nervous for you to box? How does it compare?"
Tyson: "I don't know, um, it's more nerve-wracking to be here talking to a rat piece of shit like you."
Piss poor journalism meets a very eloquent Tyson.
In reply to pelon
How is that poor journalism? Is Tyson not a convicted rapist?
Seems an entirely valid question for the interviewer to ask him given Ford's troubles and his campaign strategy to distance himself from certain people.
And Tyson is eloquent? Maaaaaan, some of you guys on here are a riot.
In reply to SnoopDog
A better journalist, a more respectful journalist would not go there - in that manner. It's a morning show... it's not 60 minutes interview or Meet the Press. It was low, nasty - uncalled for.
Tyson is on a PR tour, working hard to rebuild. Not looking for handouts - or blaming "the system". A Rather nasty question straight into a casual PR tour interview.
Where is Khari9 when you need him: why the brother to brother disrespect? Tyson paid his dues.
Yes sir, yes, I submit for your inspection "eloquent". Spelt eeee llll oooo qqq uu eeee nn ttt. Definition: clearly expressing or indicating something.

What was unclear about his response, the " a rat piece of shit like you."? So eloquent.
That word does not mean void of profanity or selection of words. He was not grandiloquent or loquacious. No sir, he was very clear in expressing his disgust. I am particularly fond of his use of metaphors, timing and delivery.
In reply to pelon
But you haven't really answered the question.
Is Tyson not a convicted rapist? And is it not true that the Ford campaign was trying to distance itself from people with criminal records because he did not want the image of being associated with known criminals which has plagued him for the past year?
Downer's job as a journalist is to ask hard questions, not pander to celebrities like most US journalist do. If Tyson didn't appreciate the question then all he had to say was "No comment".
But instead, he goes off like an 12 year old imbecile swearing and threatening violence. Yeah, real "eloquent" Mike.
In reply to Dan_De_Lyan
that down too
In reply to pelon
Shakespeare of the ring is Mike Tyson.
And if he can't take certain questions without swearing and sounding like an idiot, how on earth is he ever going to rehabilitate his image?
In reply to powen001
Can you please invite Eloquent Convicted Rapist Mike to conduct a sermon at your church Powen?
He'll have you all in rapt attention with his eloquence. If you protest he might say: "I'll beeth you rotten pith of sit".
In reply to SnoopDog
Sorry, did not see the question - and I often don't respond to the obvious.
Oh yes sir, yes, him ah convicted rapist, yes sir.
SnoopDog: No defense from me there. Not going to even suggest that when a man has paid his dues and when a man has put his past behind.... he deserves a bit more respect.
Not even going to ask you to research the case. Ah gine just leave you there.
ONE LAST item sir: Is "SnoopDog" not a convicted felon????
saw Robin Givens took the Ray Rice incident and came out to talk about spousal abuse too..."to help other gold diggers"
In reply to defeyeant
Agreed and Snoopdog is also making the same points. Definitely baited but Tyson who have faced such line of questions in the past could have turned the tables in a more eloquent manner and embarrassed the interviewer.
I bet the first things the people looking for any sign of weakness from Tyson will be to suggest that he needs anger management. Tyson knows this game he should by now have grown a thick skin to counter such idiots like that.
Having said all that, it was nice to see Downer squirm.
