Dwayne Bravo, and the players, response to Wavell Hinds
The players are rightly aggrieved and are pretty resolute in their demand that Wavel step down. Since it is clear that Wavell did not follow instructions, as can be seen from a reading of the minutes, the right thing for him to do is resign his position.

UPDATE: The players response to Wavell Hinds
All I know is I een hear a word from Wavell et al since the minutes were released.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

From this letter I gather that WIPA represents all the regional players but the Senior players are the one who make the decisions (manage the association). Does the WI players have the right to call for the WIPA board to resign? and have they sought support from the wider membership (regional players who have voting rights) before issuing these letters? This should open the eyes of the regional cricketers and they should be asking some questions about the running of WIPA with all this stuff going on
Wavel corner dark.

He who pays the piper calls the tune. The money to run WIPA comes from the test players not the regional players. Altho I agree with what Wavell was trying to achieve he should have done what he promised in the minutes- consult with the test players
In reply to dale_staple
Wavell lost the battle when he penned that reply.

The idea of sharing the pie and increasing the standard of the regional cricketers will result in greater benefits (income) for the WICB and the players. In the long term everyone will be better off. We cannot continue to use the regional players when it is convenient (need to strike) and discard them when the time comes for negotiate a renumeration package.
I do accept that the information should be shared and the players (regional not only WI) buy-in sought before signing

If the players are to fund their own cricket leagues, why is the WICB there?
In reply to sudden
I suspect that the WICB will be the one who decides the winner of this war though. Wavell will not be ousted by the members of WIPA because the regional players outnumber the international players. So things will get really interesting if Wavell refuses to resign and the international players insist that he does not represent them.
In reply to Larr Pullo
And what made players believe that if they give up to fund the league thar wicb could find money to refund them?
If wicb had the funds in the first place there would be no need for players 'sacrifice'.
May have been a con job.
In reply to Walco
True. Like I said yesterday, WICB at some point should step in, declare the MOU void and restart negotiations
In reply to Walco
WIPA is run from the Top down...INTL players have more say...was founded this way and always been run this way.
But let's see how the 'new' dispensation works with Wavell.

Interesting times ahead
In reply to Walco
Yes indeed.

I agree, but any new deal will probably require financial concessions by the WICB. So Cameron and Muirhead are probably reluctant to do that.
In reply to Chrissy
For someone who holds herself out to be a thought leader I find your contribution to be vacuous. .
Wavell need only to get the MOU ratified by majority of WIPA members. ..good luck to gravalicious Brabits when regional players exercise their right to make a decent living. ..
In reply to sudden
Lost which battle?
Did Wavell have the power to negotiate and sign the MOU?
Bravo says his comments in the meeting were his personal views. .so which is worth more - those comments or a hill of beans?
My money is on the hill of beans. .
In reply to FanAttick
How would you treat Sarwan's proviso and Hinds's promise to consult?
In reply to sudden
That is what I keep telling guys like Courtesy and FanAttick.
No thought went into penning that response to Bravo's letter.

True. Like I said yesterday, WICB at some point should step in, declare the MOU void and restart negotiations
They will not...from here on Cameron is sitting in the drivers seat...he controls what happens. I cannot see him relinquishing his stance on this matter.
BTW, Wavell will serve out his term, and there is nothing Bravo, and others could do.
At some point though, before this tour is over, shyte will hit the fan. Watch it!
The players need a Brittish or an American union boss, a boss like that guy from the sixties I read about, Jimmy Hoffa I think is his name.

We'll now have to start calling you Herr Reliable Sources!

A motion of no confidence may be the tool to dislodge someone in a position of power.

I did mention that the members of WIPA could call for a vote of No Confidence in the WIPA Executive ; in this Forum , a couple of days ago .
In reply to uton
I think you have to refer back to the bye laws of WIPA to see if there is such a clause .
maybe one of the A-at-L should know this ansa

Not sure where it said in the players response (below) that they were averse to "sharing the pie"
Mr. Dwayne Bravo then stated the he support 100% the proposal but certain conditions must be discussed, one of them being no pay drop for the senior team and that the other being salary be raised to compensate the loss of the sponsorship fee. He agreed that first class players need the raise and the retainer; he made the point that it was long over due. He said he hoped the first class understood what WIPA was trying to do and that all players stand together as one. He wanted WIPA to speak to the board on the issue of relocation for the WICB retained players and the pay grade structure being raised.
