This is where i would really like to see when the players wrote for the NOC. If it after the tour was called off that is a different story.

until we have all the information we cant say..
but it seems strange that plans could have been made to participate in Ram Slam at the very last minute (when the india tour was cancelled)

Sammy is Retired. Russel and Pollard are not part of test plans so I they would not have a problem.

Gayle and Bravo are the 2 guys who might have had a shot at test selection.

When last has Dwayne Bravo been selected for the WI test team?

Pollard and Russell have never been selected for the test team

Sammy retired from test cricket


So let's say they applied for the NOC at the beginning of the India series, what would be wrong with that?

Dwayne was expressing his displeasure of being denied test selection. Now if he goes ahead and nullify the chance it would not look good on him. Also he was the leader who represented the players during the tour and if he is not going to lead them to the end of the struggle then again it would not have looked good.

Fair point. But he's expressed his displeasure in the past and it hasn't gotten him selected. His last test match was in 2010 against Sri Lanka

Was the Test team selected with those players in it at that point?
If so, then their application can only be taken one way. If not, they are just hedging their bets so that if they remain out they have work scheduled. The application for an NOC can be denied if a player is called up for a tour or series. However, it cannot be granted if it isn't applied for.

without the full facts, no one can jump to any conclusions..
However i would like to know when the players made the decision to play Ram Slam T20, if that was when the India tour was cancelled... i doubt that could be the case...
