My choice will be Ewin lewis or jonathan carter
Message Board Archives
who will replace Darren B
It's going to be Carter...
Man averages under 30.
Played 2 FC matches in less than a month with scores of 2, 78 and 0.
Everyone knows my choice but other than him it'd have to be Kuk.
Dwayne Bravo also in with a shout.
Fudadin could probably sneak in due to A team form.
In reply to Andy99
I like Asad but I will go along with Pollard, his time has come
In reply to CricketFan
I suspect the WICB have no intention of replacing him....
In reply to Emir
I hope too that it will be Pollard, if only to put to bed the argument that he is a Test class batsman. He has no backfoot game and will be just a walking wicket for Steyn & co on the fast, bouncy SA wickets.
In reply to CricketFan
Kirk,Carter,Fudadin or my wildcard choice, Lendl Simmons
In reply to Superfly
I hope too that it will be Pollard,
you super crazy boss?..pollard?

Deo
that 110* might see Deo going to SA
In reply to Wally-1
Did you read the whole post?
Dwayne Smith..
Deo cant play quick bowling
Carter is in dubious form
Dwayne Smith is a cowlasher
Kirk Edwards doesnt have any meaningful form either
Take your pick.
In reply to Commie
Wrong choice of word there.
True is more accurate.
Tino Best was the last person thrown into the deep end (0 for 99 from 19). Do you want that for Carter when facing Steyn, Philander, and Morkel?
If they were looking for Carter, he should have been in the series against Bangladesh or New Zealand.
I believe these ninnies will go for:
Edwards, Deonarine or Powell...if available
Maybe it's time for Dwayne Smith to enter the arena again, but he might have to get over Philander and his swinging new ball. Dwayne Smith will put a whipping on Steyn and Morkel...that kind of pace is right up his alley...
In reply to TheTrail
And don't forget his century on debut against the same SA. Dwayne's experience will be needed against that bowling attack..
Kieron Powell?
In reply to Yadi
He also gat Personal Problems...pick someone else!
In reply to WestDem
Adrian Barath?
In reply to Yadi
Yuh mekking joke outta a serious matter Yardi?
Barath?
Its gonna be Fudadin or Kuk!
In reply to WI_cricfan
That is not enough to give Deo the spot,Fudadin has better credentials at the moment,Evin Lewis hasn't done too badly since he started, last season debut wasn't too bad,and starts off well this season.
In reply to granite
They are looking for a #3 batsman with test experience, most of the youngsters don't have enough regional or A team experience to be selected.
They may let an out of form Kirk face the music
whoever replaces Darren will be a waterboy, with Samuels and Gayle back in the team all the batting positions are taken.
In reply to openning
At some time one must play to get Test experience. Bravo too had none when first appeared; Samuels had little FC experience when he was surprisingly called up back when.
Send a youngster who is fearless in approach (like Blackwood) even he is a back up (carry water)in case of an injury. Gayle of late has been injury prone.
In reply to Scar
How fearless was he in the last "A" team??

How about our latest musician/cricketer? This Russel Kid? Bat bowl field sing . He looks like a good package?
In reply to Andy99

You can't be serious!!
In reply to TheTrailDoes an early failing on tough spin pitches which normally overcome WI batsmen mean he is fraid of anything. My fearless refers to playing his type of game.
Those with more "experience" called for also failed on that tour. I did not call for him but for WI to take a youngster on tour to carry water as in years gone by. In case of injury he steps in and siezes his chance. The tried and failed experienced ones only holding back the untried from proving their worth. Besides a newbie wont change the rankings carrying water.
In reply to Scar
Isn't Blackwood in the squad?
Beg Sammy to un-retire
In reply to methodic I did not call for his inclusion but said another similar response to a vacant spot could be used filled with one like him.
Sarwan?

ok super
In reply to CricketFan Two best players of express pace and lift that we will get from Steyn and Morkel are Simmons and Smith. Both mentally are not ideal test players but some counter-attacking against pace is going to be needed to protect the other batsmen, all of whom are likely to struggle. I would go with Simmons as the more solid of the two.
