You all have a special one there in Mamchan.

I've been spotting his special brand of reporting for a while.

On this we agree- flag wavers are getting too much to bear now

But on a granular level, franchises using nationalistic sentiment is crap

Its a weak sauce argument we have had before.

If that is the case remove the country name in front and continue.

National T20s are gone. Done. Get over it.

No no
Remove the country name
Change from the national colours
Properly mix the teams

Then try to run your franchise model if you name man

Half arsed parasitism off national nostalgia is pathetic and cowardly

Who dictates that?

You Halliwell who invests zero?

What happens around CPL Time at QPO? The CPL is now a core part of QPCC revenue plan. Why don't you go to Bruce dem and tell dem YOUR alternative.

The catchment area for Leyton Orient is as big as the ENTIRE eastern caribbean.

The catchment population for Manchester Utd bigger than JA and TT combined.

If the Trinidad govt decided to invest in QPCC and had the Oval busy in the same period they would tell CPL fork off but they are all too grateful.

Spend Nah.

The catch is, if Manchester wanted to keep its best homegrown players, the premier league could never tell them sell Scholes to Hull! confused

Or worse, don't sell, next year Scholes will be in Hull. You get Zamora in his place

The franchise model is an American phenomenon.

The example I gave is to understand the silliness of the scale, not to make an equivalence directly.

The whole draft paradigm is American franchise.

It is why most NBA players for example do not play for their home town franchises.

Same for baseball and nfl.

The concept of a player belonging to a region is unheard of in franchise sports.

They may machinate to come home, get traded etc, but Wiggins for example will likely never play for the Raptors if they don't improve.

Again...nothing happened in that window in the past in each of those countries and at those grounds.

Go look at QPCC forecasts. Its online.

Play a country tournament every other year...

Halliwell 2015-05-23 11:46:51

In reply to Commie

So essentially clubs in a single country

We are different countries still having to play together

If countries want to leave they can. It isnt a ground breaking process.

Start the movement on the ground. Join with eric, itito and the rest of you in TT who are funding cricket in Trinidad in particular and having to suffer the ignominy of sharing space with the rest of the region. After all, its you all who are spending your large coin to sustain the sport, not the rest of us.

It can be done.

Organise a FB page, a website. TTgoitalone.com.

Well maybe Tgoitalone.com considering Tobago might want to go it alone from allyuh first.

Think of the movement of support you will have.

Good heavens No.... it was time to dismantle territorial teams in all aspects of our cricket, spread our players around and get the best playing at all times, matter of fact national colours and names should also be removed. it should just be the tridents and the Red Steel etc

Can you post without the trini bellyaching, dude?

I never knew that wanting a better system in sport wasn't allowed unless you bankroll the whole damn thing
Wat a ting indeed

Giving QPCC Hobson's Choice then saying they are grateful is being dishonest

Commie 2015-05-23 15:52:00

In reply to Halliwell

The CPL is a commercial operation no?

You are the one bellyaching which gives plenty room to mock you.

At the end of the day the games will be full and the QPO will make some well needed revenue.

You haven't presented any alternative other than to demand they revert to what you preferred on the grounds that well...thats what you preferred.

If you really feel that committed to changing it, then start an online petition or picket the games. You will definitely get airtime to give your view.

Otherwise take your ridicule.
