Judging from the Indian tour and the Pakistanis before them, the emphasis needs to be on SPIN against the Sri Lankans!

I would pick both Permaul and Narine in Slot.5 & 6

I'd take Carlos Braithwaite as an extra Pacer (Slot.4), as a Backup for Holder / Roach

Gabriel? might not be effective on those low and slow wickets.
Rampaul? Is he fit?
Cottrell? again, pitches might not suit him

Who else?

Narine? Isn't this test cricket? Plus there is far more scrutiny internationally than the likit in India.

I don't know, would actually like Narine to be called or not called i.e. tested in international conditions.

C. Brathwaite and Holder in same squad is pointless INMHO. Besides nothingin his bowling recently that says he should be in. They'll probably take Cummins.

Better batsman and fielder and under normal circumstances better bowler. But Roach is clearly not himself and his bowling recently, well has nothing to write home about and that's over two series of four matches. Nah he needs to demonstrate his fitness. As for conditions, you do realise that not ALL Sri Lankan pitches are about spin right?
