lol ah surprised you know about Rootsman. They have been playing his music on one of the local music radio stations here since he passed away yesterday.

This is my favorite tune from him. full with melody

Big fan - he was a regular in Jamaica - knew Kingston well and would jump on di bus and head to di market and all over the place.
Have a good friend who was his good friend.

Did great reggae too - very conscious.

ok didn't know all of that. I thought he was more popular in the smaller islands than Jamaica. Not familiar with his Reggae. I know him more for his Calypso

Good info, thanks Christine. I'll pay him a short tribute tonight-- maybe a fuller one next Sat. I'm told that I know some of his folks-- apparently from a Carenage crowd I bounced with back then.

RIP Yafeu "Rootsman" Osei.

Liked him a lot - a genuine Caribbean man. Funny how many Caribbean people become Caribbean in New York, London and Toronto lol lol

WOW, just hearing this, real sad news. Remember performing one of his numbers - Soca in de Palace - while on tour with Shadow in London some years ago.

Link Text was real popular there at the time.
