Trinis following the bidding war over BHL?

I hear this is really about the well-being of Carib. Would you drink certain American beers over Carib given all things equal (availability, price)?

Well being of Carib? No way..it's common knowledge they make more profits than local banks, unless dey talkin bout in Bim market.

I pledge allegiance to no beer.

I believe if a call went out to average Barbadians to pool their resources under a group to save Banks, I for sure will gladly take part. Break it down in layman terms and I believe we can save our beer from these valtures.

Though I am not Bajan, I would like to be part of this group to keep Banks Bajan.

But what's the Banks Guyanese connection, can someone enlighten..

Acquisition of the company will give Ansa McAL control of every major beer brand produced in the English-speaking Caribbean, adding to a portfolio that currently includes Carib, Stag, Mackeson and Red Stripe.

We own dat too!? WTF when dey do dat ...shock sad

You may be missing the point of why a TT company is bidding furiously for ownership of a manufacturing company within CARICOM...

Or to block ownership...

I didn't know you were making such a point. I'm certain I can come up with over 6 off the top of my head, but the entertainment is more intriguing ..

I don't have a horse in the race but AmBev with that damning news will win. Caribbean people are so insular at times that they miss the big picture.

It does not matter who owns a company. The important point is the company take care of its obligations to the country and to the employees. What good is it to have a "locally owned" company that treats its employees like crap?

That is why it is more important to have rules and regulations in place to govern companies than it is to be up in arms about who owns what.

I can't see how you could conclude that after reading the above link..It's anyone's game IMO.

The group is demanding answers from BHL directors after they issued a circular last evening recommending that the shareholders accept the $5.60 per share offer issued by SLU Beverages Limited, which is owned by AMBEV.

That bid is $0.40 lower than the latest $6 offered by Trinidad and Tobago conglomerate ANSA McAL through its subsidiary A.M. Caribbean Development Ventures Ltd.

The group was adamant that it would continue to examine the two bids, even as it suggested that it was leaning towards the Trinidadian conglomerate.

bravos 2015-10-30 21:50:08

Ambev would be pleased, lol this was today, got caught up for hours heading south!

Stag..

Ansa or any other company seeking a hostile takeover will have to pay $10 a share. Dat 6 look real small.
