OECS leaders playing politics with the ECCB

Jokiness dat

Hahaha....I see at least one other person here is following the situation closely.
Gene Leon is the obvious better choice. He is the one recommended by the search committee--months ago. Yet you have all kinds of politicking to ensure that they select someone that they **assume** would be more malleable.
So you see why these guys should be kept as far away from windies cricket as possible!
In reply to JOJO
In my mind the search committee is most suitable and knowledgeable to pick the candidate. So why should the leaders meddle after a recommendation has been made by the person's hired to make the selection.makes no sense at all.
Gaston Browne is a dangerous little man and he is siding up with an even more dangerous little man in Keet.
The reasons are obvious.

No not Keet again ???
you mean Keet wid di suitcase??
In reply to Real-cricket
isn't this the model institution for regional cooperation?
In reply to Commie
The reasons are obvious indeed!
It would be a tragedy if the other leaders allow GB and KM to have their way....but knowing how things go in this region, they just might!

Only on paper
In reply to JOJO
They didn't for both Secretary General of Commonwealth and Caricom.
They shouldn't now.
In reply to Commie
Well, in these cases, they really didn't have to. But in the case of the ECCB, only the OECS is involved in making the selection--so they must agree on one individual.
So the leaders have made their decision. Search committee? Which search committee?
In reply to JOJO
Horse trading it looks like.
Let's see what the former PS does.
In reply to Commie
Let's see. But the search committee clearly stated that th recommended candidate was, far and away, the best qualified for the position (not that the other shortlisted ones weren't). But to go through the process of selecting a group of well-qualified persons for a search committee and then disregarding their recommendation...
In reply to JOJO
All the best to Timmy but the whole process was laughable. Seems like there was no need for a search committee after all.
Anyway I believe Mr. Antoine is competent and he can do a good job barring political interference

Those last two words are everything.
