He is not getting the love from Imusic, or non bajan posters?

Shamar Springer, is it because he is Bajan
In reply to openning
I'm touched and simultaneously perplexed that you need my validation to feel good about a sporting achievement. Surely you couldn't be that insecure bro.
Congrats to the young man. Well done against Fiji
In reply to imusic
You usually put your foot and mouth in bajan cricket, you knew who is the best batsmen, from who is hype
Not one word on the first ton, by a youngster from your favourite Island.
In reply to openning
Man you know the name Springer can only be bajan or Guyanese and de Guyanese int saying nothing, so yuh dun know weh e frum
In reply to sudden
Shamar and Springer make that name decidedly Bajan.
In reply to imusic
The real question then is why aren't the Bajans talking about it either?
I'd like to visit Fiji some day.
In reply to sudden
Dem Guyanese is as quiet as a church mouse, with a name like Shamar they may soon claim him.
In reply to imusic
Congrats to the young man. Well done against Fiji
It woulda hurt you just to say congratulations, so you had to add on the rest......man you is the worst kind of something parading pon the PB as another kind of something...........if he did from de Trini version uh pelican you woulda got the place stink wid how much talent coming out of the twin.......man yuh is a real K9, hope yuh got pedigree.........
In reply to imusic
Ow, Lawd! You are a cruel man!
I think I described Springer as a mini-Jason-Holder during the match against Eng.
In that match, Springer's batting looked poor against the high quality England team. In fact, on seeing him for the first time, I wondered why he was sent in so high in the batting order. Pope, Carty and Goolie who came before him, all showed good fight and technique and looked competent. Springer did not.
Springer's bowling too left a lot to be desired. He was clocking about 110 kph for a long time and was being clobbered around and out of the ground. He then cranked it up to 130 kph, and immediately became more effective.
He was getting the ball to wobble in the air a bit, however, even at the slower speeds.
So, we are happy Springer got a hundred, but full out praise will be forthcoming when he shows class against good opposition.
We will need decent knocks from him, and Hetmyer, against Zimbabwe on Monday night.
we have more Shamar/Shemar in gt than springer
In reply to Norm
Lord have mercy, seeing the youngster once and you wonder why he was sent in so early, did you not check to see where he bats for Bim's U-19 team?
Bro, we expect you to be full of praise for a batsman that looks good, not a bajan that led from the front, with his bat.

In reply to openning
He is beating up minnows, he becoming ninnow bully, that's not the bajan way
In reply to openning
It mattered not to me that he was Bajan. In fact, I had no idea where the various players came from, except for the Guyanese.
Anyway, Springer will have at least one more chance to show his (current) worth in this tournament.
IMO Pope, Carty, Goolie and Paul all have good eyes and nerves and could become become good international batsmen in the near future, with good coaching.
Springer seems better suited to bowling.
In reply to Norm
I
Have you done any researched on these youngsters, or are you going by seeing them, only two times at bat?
In reply to tc1
I heard the same thing when I posted Kraigg tons, on this MB.
If Springer was from any Island, he would be hail as a furure West Indies alrounder, but he is bajan.
In reply to openning
You wasting time wid dese....any other youngster and yuh won't shit bout Fiji...yuh would hear you does beat up on poor/weak teams, but dem like dem forgetting that Fiji in the tournament..........my only issue wid this U-19 is that they should have forgotten the Bajan........the only negative chat is about that Bajan who made a century against Fiji...............all kinda CJ's running talk.......
In reply to cherri
Our boy Sudden is asleep at the wheel, I just found out he is at cawmere

I like when folks here start defending themselves with questions!
Look, bro, if you have additional information about Springer to support your belief that he is deserving of more praise, why not just share it with us? We are fans of WI cricket and we WANT Springer, etc, to be successful.
Many non-Bajans here support Paint, CB, etc, even when others argued that they did not deserve places in regional teams. So, let's stop the Bajan-self-pitying and start looking facts in the face.
Praise for Springer's batting will be in order when he scores runs against good teams - like Pope and even Goolie did.

In reply to Norm
Is this the same team that beat New Zealand, or is NZ a minor?
Dude, had Pope or any other had score a ton against Hong Kong, allyuh would be heaping praise from the roof top.
The youngster ton deserve, some praise.
In reply to Norm
Praise for Springer's batting will be in order when he scores runs against good teams - like Pope and even Goolie did.....
It is a good thing the stats book ent got no comments page, so the only people that talking bout scoring runs against good teams is wunna............nothing in the stats books will say,.........100 to springer but dah ent nutten to write home bout cause it was not against a good team.......
we WANT Springer, etc, to be successful............(skinning up muh so-and-so face)
In reply to cherri
U fuh real, the only player looks like a batsman is Pope, all the rest ir just as good as Springer.
In reply to tc1
That boy Springer is a Cawmerian?
In reply to cherri
We all had a good laugh when Ian Bishop kept repeating during the England match the story about Kirstan Kallicharan's 404 in a schoolboy match in T&T. KK came in at No 11, couldn't negotiate a rather ordinary ball from Mahmood and was bowled, first ball.
Nothing changes the fact that there is a score of 404 next KK's name in the record books somewhere, but that meant absolutely nothing to England.
Zimbabwe will worry more about Pope and Paul than about Springer and Hetmyer on Monday night. WI fans will be hoping the latter two show some class against decent opposition for a change.

Here is proof
Combermere 347-5 (40 overs) (Shamar Springer 132 not out, Shian Brathwaite 73, Hasani Newton 35, Leniko Boucher 30, Najee Holder 29, Nicholas Kirton 16; Dario Williams 2-46).
Frederick Smith 59 all out (29 overs) (Tyreke Archer 16; Shamar Springer 3-3, Kevon Bartlett 2-11, Nicholas Kirton 2-14).
Points: Combermere 4, Frederick 0.
In reply to openning
Thought so. He deserves all the praises then.
In reply to tc1
Please...who opened your door?
In reply to cherri
U got to keep ahead of the mob,
In reply to Norm
No fan should care who scores runs.
Bishop doesn't know youth cricket so was just working to what limited knowledge he had of a Trini youth who btw is a part time bowler being forced to be the stereotype variety bearing leggie.

So The CPL bringing six marquee players Francois Faf du Plessis, Martin Guptill, Brendon McCullum, Kumar Sangakkara and Shane Watson all been confirmed into the Player Draft which is set to take place in Barbados on Thursday, 11 February. The identity of the final marquee player will be announced closer to the Draft......you hear who the final player is.......saw you mentioning a name in a recent thread, is that a given?.......
In reply to cherri
I heard an IPL ownership is buying the Trident and De Villiers is going to be part of the team
In reply to openning

In reply to cherri
I heard that during the first match against T&T, the dude that writes for a Trinidad paper, said that was in the works.
Like you, Andrew Mason and others are awaiting comfirmation, because I havent seen it in print or discussed on any of the local sport shows.

In reply to tc1
This thread is only about Springer's ton, and not how good he is.
Check the MB, you will see posters praising 50's, not one word of congratulation for the first ton, scored by a West Indies U-19 players, who is a Bajan.
In reply to tc1

Is it the deficient Vitamin D old fart!
In reply to nick2020
Dude, when or where did I big up Springer?
If congratulating him for scoring the first ton by a West Indian U-19 at the WC, then I stand as accuse.

r u his attorney at law
I was once interviewed for a job at an engineering firm in London, the bloke that interviewed me had the surname Springer, and I detected a Caribbean accent, but felt it was Bajan.I think I was more qualified than him,and he was the manager. He asked me if I wanted to ask any questions,I did,but he couldn't give me the answers I knew to be correct.I didn't get the job,I'm sure he thought I was "too big for my boots".
In reply to granite
This sound like a JahJah story where the person in the story and the person he dissing is the same person.
In reply to Commie
You should get a job as an "ideas man",there must be an Agency somewhere.
In reply to Commie

In reply to WestDem
I went to bed after the captain got out, was too nervous to watch the remainder of the match
Paul's incident has united the team, the guys seem united.
In reply to Norm
You should be happy that we had the calm presence of Springer to guide the team home!!

Say what allyuh want and fight fuh weh Springer from in Bim but I have a very strong feeling it is Powen who taught him the chest roll dance!
In reply to WestDem
didnt see it. if it looks like it was choreographed for height challenged people, yes, Powen probably taught him
In reply to WestDem
I say Cherri, she told me she can dance
In reply to sudden
From what allyuh been saying of his height, he will have to stand on a stool to teach that dance.
In reply to openning
wait.. cherri can dance? i heard she has two left feet
In reply to sudden & openning
Can't be cherri...got to be Powen...reason is...I looked at the dance numerous times during this WC and every time I notice Springer always looking towards the ground just infront of him!!!

Which part o St. Michael's could be better than Kolij cricketers?
In reply to sudden
True, Kolij was asked to accomplish what other schools could NOT---Focus on Academic results!!!
HC is too small to have girls they should have been kept at QC!!!!!!
HC had good Cricketing talent, very competitive to any school indeed my first competitive game was versus Cawmere and 62 not out with a massive 6 off some leg spinner named -----
