Emir 2016-02-07 10:01:38

It is the first time he went unsold since making his IPL debut.

no pelters

In reply to doosra

It seems you brain is programmed to accuse all Trinidad bowlers as "pelters." Do you not see then as fellow West Indians?

Why are you always expressing such glee whenever one of our cricketers fall on hard times?

I see you making fun and ridicule of Sunil. Cooper, Pollard and many others Trinidad players.

As far back as I could remember,on meeting other West Indians,it seems they must find something nasty to say bout Trinidad,I just didn't understand it.I am certain they would all like to see the quick demise of TT.What is funny is,in years gone by and even today,TT is/was nice to the lot,and they can't bloody deny that.

Commie 2016-02-07 11:27:40

Ironic your use of throwing stones.

number09 2016-02-07 11:55:42

Cooper's problem is not bowling 136kph+ consistently, and improving his batting. I have seen him bowl quicker. He settled for medium pace bowling. With the plethora of quicker bowlers who can bat, genuine potential allrounders, I would not pick him.

nissan 2016-02-07 12:13:10

Ironic your use of throwing stones.

Cooper's problem is he is flat out pelting. His action is horrible. I have not seen him recently but if he settled on medium pace bowling it is because he stop stoning people.

]Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Kevon Cooper has been reported for bowling certain deliveries with a suspect illegal action during the IPL match against Mumbai Indians on Sunday. Cooper, who bagged two wickets in his four-over spell in a five-wicket defeat that saw Rajasthan lose the play-off spot to Mumbai, was reported by on-field umpires Rod Tucker and K Srinath, along with third umpire S Ravi, at the conclusion of the match.

doublecentury 2016-02-08 13:07:37

I think some of you are really not in a position to make the statements you make. Also some of the comments are very unpleasant.

Kevon cooper bowls with a lot of wrist action that makes his action appear jerky. If you watch the arm and the wrist carefully you will see it is unusual. Without the benefit of the testing technology there is no way the naked eye can make a judgement as to the degree of flex. I don't know if he has been reported or tested.

I therefore conclude some posters are simply prejudiced or ignorant or both.

Emir 2016-02-08 13:09:55

In reply to doublecentury

How about insular. You see the ignorant part along with the prejudice part your suggested is the symptom. The problem is insularity.

I am convinced the first word a Trini learn is 'oul-u-jamaiekans'

Tagwa1 2016-02-09 01:16:12

In reply to granite and them arrogant Trinis

You Trinis really like this victim syndrome "dem doh like we" shyte. It's like unnu bath in it.

As a kid I didn't like trinis, even if more than half of my family were born trinis. It didn't start out like that I liked going Trinidad. What I didn't like was the disdain they treated others with. Vincies were this, grenadians talked bad, bajan this and Guyanese that. Trini culture direded everyone that wasn't trini. It was and still is a hateful and sick superior attitude towards others.

And the irony is that all yu expect love from it. It just shows a level of dumbness that baffling. You listen Trinidad radio when I was growing up and it would sick you stomach the things they would say about others. In some circles it seemed like official policy.

You Trinis grow up on this fugging ATM Nancy story and unnu keep repeating it, as though that makes it truer.

And even with $10 a barrel oil looming on the horizon to play a mas in allyu lop sided economy, you all still continue living in that poor proud crime Palace thinking somehow you all better than others.

Even if this region wanted to, they could never really love unnu...unnu spread too much bad vibes and disrespect when you all had a likkle penny more than others. Trinis was always the rich but nasty Aunt who wanted to be more New Yorker than West Indian. It's like unnu hated being west indian..but that's another day.

The irony is that poor trinis who never really shared in the wealth, push the ATM myth more than the rich who robbed them blind of their national inheritance.

Go fight dem for unnu money that they robbed from allyu consistently for the last 80 years, don't look to the region and keep repeating that worn out ATM lie.

Psst..them Maharaj, Agostinos, Salvatories and Clico hide and lose allyu money in Florida and New York. Go find it.

It was dem that used Trinidad as a fugging ATM.

Go find it since all 2.5 million of unnu will need some good psychotherapy with that oil tsunami that coming down the pike.

Cooper had a good run, and earned a lot of money...he's earned more than a lot of Windies Test players.

Commie 2016-02-09 04:55:39

In reply to mikesiva

How do you know that?

This isn't like US sports where player salaries are published.

Emir 2016-02-09 07:12:46

In reply to mikesiva

Yes, he did, he secured his future.

Emir 2016-02-09 07:13:01

In reply to Commie

Yes, it is.

Commie 2016-02-09 07:34:21

In reply to Emir

No it isn't.

A players auction price is a 'mirage'. It is not their salary or earnings.

This is even more so given its India where smoke and mirrors are part of the equation. There was a great article on this a couple years ago by an Indian lawyer who happens to be a cricket fan.

doosra 2016-02-09 07:40:24

In reply to Commie

U mean to say when a local boy from bihar auctions foe 300k it might actually be in rupees. I've long wondered if there's the auction and the real auction

nick2020 2016-02-09 08:40:30

In reply to doosra

I do not follow this IPL thing that closely but I would figure it is like other franchise leagues. The team is purchasing the player from the league for that amount of money so they pay the league the auction price but pay the player a salary.

Good to get it out bro. I'm sure there's more pent up in there. Get it ALL out.....it's healthy

BTW.....you said this

"dem doh like we" shyte.

And follow it up with this:

As a kid I didn't like trinis. Even if this region wanted to, they could never really love unnu. all 2.5 million of unnu will need some good psychotherapy with that oil tsunami that coming down the pike.

Seems like granite and de arrogant trinis are correct. If what you posted is accurate of course

Cornfused 2016-02-09 17:09:53

Wow Tagwa 1 , all of that pent up , take a WOOSAH please . Your economic predictions for Trinidad and Tobago should be based on the price of Natural Gas and Oil as well as Financial Services, Manufacturing and other Services . For example Guyana should come into some oil and gas finds soon . Which country that currently exports oil engineers and services to the far east and Africa, would the expertise and equipment come from . Apart form oil there are technology firms in Trinidad that compete well in the intentional market ,that information you would not see in any Economic forum.

I don't have insular tools like your self to study , from Belize , Bahamas straight down to Guyana ,I have my peeps ,. There are Caribbean vacation destinations for every budget and taste .

wink

Commie 2016-02-09 20:42:05

Can we get back on topic ?

Cooper hasn't bowled a ball in his life. Lucky fella and should thank Buddha that he has had a career.

Walk well.

Oh come on man, why be so anal? The players earning is made public and most folks understand the exact amount they receive is less after deductions and adjustments etc.

No different than US sportsmen, they get less than what their contract specifies after deduction and adjustments.

Commie 2016-02-09 21:08:42

In reply to Emir

No they don't.

You cannot point me to any season by season earnings for IPL players. It doesn't exist.

Payment is based on a not very simple formula.

Emir 2016-02-09 21:17:00

In reply to Commie

It doesn't exist
You realize what you are saying? You are saying their salary "doesn't exist." I can assure you they get paid, the amount they get paid we don't know exactly, but a ball park figure is widely publicized.

Payment is based on a not very simple formula.
Well YES, I am not debating this point.

mikesiva 2016-02-10 05:02:25

In reply to Emir

They bury their heads in the sand like mythical ostriches....
cool
I'm sure there are some WI players who wish they were in Cooper's shoes.

This myth of West Indies salaries being great is being exposed by the latest standoff.

Cooper earned US$50,000 for just two months' work in the IPL every April and May.

And that doesn't include what he earned playing in the other T20 leagues....

mikesiva 2016-02-11 09:28:55

Add to that, Cooper earned US$40,000 from one month's play in the CPL alone last year....
