There is no quick fix to our test cricket woes. The chop and change hysteria on this mb is amusing but it en gwin fix ah ting. We have to identify the young talent and develop it at the highest level because our domestic cricket is too poor at this time to do that job. We will be holding some licks but in time these young players will get better and the test team will improve. Pick he drop he cyan improve our cricket...steady sober thought and application will.

So you are saying that we should identify a core group of young talent and develop those only? Because if we are to rely on a development model at the highest level there must be pick he and drop he to expose all the young talent at that level and not just one group...

We tried that before natty and when the core all at once found new interests (for various reasons) we were only left with Shiv.....

In reply to Kay... obviously was not done properly. And with no retainers in place what motivated players to go and improve. With professional cricket slowly but surely creeping in, we are in a position to succeed if we are just a bit patient.

Due to the fact that we have not developed and mobilized the infrastructure of our cricket for over two decades, we have come down to only one way in a short term formular to select a 24 member players list. These are the players should be placed in an ongoing coaching and developmental program even when not on duty to help with their mental and technical and physical issues while we work on our long term development programs throughout the region starting with the youths.

In this 24 member they should have players for all conditions while working with them we could use certain players based on the conditions and oppositions.
There are a lot of players we are suggesting to replace certain players because of underperformances. This will help that issue. So they know they are nor discarded but in the pool that will continue to work on their game for other opportunities.

The current 13 players as well as Lewis, Hope, Singh, Conwall, Joseph, Holder youth bowler, and many younger players around the region that does not come to mind.

Obviously people who not performing will eventually be dropped and someone else gets a run...but they must get a run. If our coaches/selectors identify the talent you must work with it and give it time. It cyan be pick johnny dis match he fail drop him and pick somebody else like how nuff posters here are suggesting. Its reactionary shows no vision and it won't work.

With our poor local standards when identified talent reach test match they en ready yet and will need more time and nurturing than players from other countries which have strong and plenty local 3 day competition.

There will be turnover but it can't be haphazard.

We need the people in charge to have vision be steady and thoughtful...there are no quick fixes.
