Shakeem Clarke

Any one seen Clarke ?... Think I'm right in saying that he played club cricket in SA over the winter.

Son of the late Sylvester Clarke

"In a match of fluctuating fortunes, pacer Shakeem Clarke snatched five for 32 off seven overs including a hat-trick to give Wanderers a good chance of beating St. Catherine.

After gaining a narrow eight-run first innings lead, Wanderers reduced St. Catherine to 110 for eight in their second innings.

Clarke, 20, the son of former Barbados and West Indies fast bowler Sylvester Clarke, removed Omar Phillips, Mario Rampersaud and Chad Puckerin with the first three balls of his fourth over.

Phillips was caught at mid-on, Rampersaud was bowled and Puckerin leg before wicket "

At this rate Barbados are going to be able to field two teams in Regional Cricket.

Why not a WI U23 team in FC that plays like in the past

Totally agree.... U23 is the right age level... The young guys have got to play more cricket... U19 and A tours as well... Never has the need been so urgent.

The need has been there for some time. But WICB did not bother.

Even now they would not.

Yes....is it lack of money ? ...will ?.....

Also from Barbados local cricket

"Jerome Jones took four for 49 and fellow left-arm pacer Obed McCoy, three for 28."

Just nice to see young pacers (instead of the usual spinners) taking some wickets...and left armers !

Dave's priority is in "improving the coffers of the Board". U23 team and A tours are unnecessary expenses.

B team and u19 belong in a development league not fc class.

I can understand U19 but why not the U23 or B teams? I think there are many talented youngsters on par with the current FC players who are not getting a chance.

You approach would be right in a real world like Aussie FC set up or Indian FC set up where the ten is not in crisis. WI is in crisis for 2 decades and is crying for talent. When would WICB and its supporters feel there is more to be done than just gong through the motions

Majority of our players lost their way between age 19 - 23 so the ideas expressed here are good. I however always feel that WICB pays too much attention to the senior team. The fact is, once yo youth cricket suck, yo senior team will eventually suck.

I does really feel it for them young guys who playing for west indies, having to learn on the job.

There was a need to stop tampering with WI senior team and focus completely on the regional and age group teams so that better players replace the existing guys.

But prepaus said the focus was to improve revenue and be in control so the senior team was tampered with so much that the others were not focused at
