I sent an email to WICB last week to inquire about tickets for the T20 games in Florida and I got this response today. I don't know if I can post the link here. Please let me know if I can. These tickets are real expensive so I'm not sure this is a legit link.

Tickets for T/20 in Fort Lauderdale on sale now
Seems pricey. I think I saw prices along those lines in other channels so I think it's legit. Guess they feel the Indian diaspora will pay top dollar for the matches.
Again though, no effort to reach out to the common man who may be curious about the sport - no way are they going to shell out $$.
Since the games starts at 10:00 AM, which stand will have less sun? I'm not sure if the wicket is E/W or N/S.
I'm looking at the East or West Grandstand. Can someone who is familiar with the ground please respond? I already purchase my airline ticket from Texas so I have no other choice.

That's a lot a lot of money. They really not targeting the poor man.
I thought would of been around $30.
I'll be in Fort Lauderdale that weekend but lawd man. Can't afford that.
In reply to Tryangle
General public are no more needed in the ground
In reply to Moe99
at 10 am, it does not matter!
I prefer the West stand because you get the breeze from the east.
In reply to Moe99
I would preffer East stand being as the game going to start at 10. The price is far too high
In reply to positiveg
Can't?
I can't believe this. All the East and West Grandstand tickets are sold out. I tried to put in an order for either one and there are no tickets left for those stands. I called the number in the original post and the girl told me that all those tickets are gone. I had to settle for the Mound/bleachers at $100.00 each for both days. We have a group of 6 and the total cost is $1200.00 for both days.
This is incredible since the tickets only went on sale this morning.
In reply to Moe99
Is this for real??
In reply to Moe99
Ouch! I was looking into seeing these matches but I also wanted the West stand. But at that exorbitant price I procrastinated! I suppose they feel they got the marketing right if they were able to sell all the tickets days before the event.
In any case I could not make it on Sunday as I have to be in church.
The CPL games were mostly at 7 p.m. except when there were double-headers. Are the times set that way because of television viewing requirements in India?
In reply to Moe99
thats bullshit!!
how can it be sold out when they are still selling 2 day passes??!
sheer crookery going on!
In reply to Outswinger
yes, BCCI calling the shots!
In reply to spready
Yes Spready, it's for real unless someone in the WICB office is lying.
First I tried to purchase the East/west stand tickets by trying to add to "My Cart" and then I got a message that I cannot purchase the tickets as they are unavailable. After trying a few times, I called the office and I was told that all those tickets are sold out, so I had to revert to the Mound/Bleachers. As I mentioned earlier, I had already purchased my airline tickets so I'm stuck.

I did the 2 day admission option, then you have to select the Price Level and number of tickets in the quantity box. At that point if you select either the E/W stand, you get the message that the tickets are not available for this event.
This is the exact message that came up.
"There were no tickets available that matched your request."
Unbelievable!!
By the way, what is the capacity of the stadium, 10,000?
Rich injuns must have bought all those tickets.
In reply to Moe99
they say 20k
In reply to Venky
someone gotta play for the big wigs coming from India!
In reply to googley
Exactly
I aint.. I hope my accreditation from earlier is valid.. Or else I'm giving it a pass..

The tickets are sold out, only passes are available .... what you don't understand
OK guys - Can you tell me about parking near the Mound/Bleachers section? Are there pre-paid parking or what is the procedure for parking at the stadium?
In reply to Moe99
Usually there is prepaid parking, but if not you can pay at the gate for a slightly higher fee. Each gate has its own parking area, so you would follow the circle for about 1/2 mile and park right behind the mound. There will be parking personnel to direct you. For cpl the mound was coded as the yellow gate.
In reply to jballer84
Thanks!!
I went to the Stadium website but did not see anything about Prepaid Parking. I sent an email to them, hopefully they will reply. Worst case we pay at the gate.
In reply to Moe99
with BCCI running things you will be paying a premium!!! hahahahahah!
doan worry, there is plenty parking!
comments from the ticket site:
If we could travel all the way from New Jersey to Kolkatta to watch a T20 between India vs Pakistan, we can definitely go to Florida. After booking the airline(non refundable), rental car and hotel we find out the price, they are high but looks like the organizers think we are very rich in America and dollars are found on the trees. But what can we do? Definitely does not help to promote cricket in America but it is a matter of supply and demand. There is only 20,000 capacity in the only stadium in USA approved by ICC. Just think you are there for the country and MSD and you are not paying the airfare to India or WI, also not losing any time from work as it is on weekend. Still worth it!!
So true, even we thought at once will buy VIP tickets but it's not available in 1/2 hour of opening tickets purchase so called to find out and heard they are saving these tickets for either families of cricketers or organizers. What the hell? They may be successful of this event but not in future events.. Sorry going to travel this time because already bought airline tickets but never ever again

Btw we decided to drop the match and go for beach fun. Sorry icci you and your family members can enjoy the game this one and the future once

Everyone the world over thinks dollars grows on trees in the US. Those ticket prices are outrageous. I prefer to go to one of the islands can fish and do other stuff besides cricket also.
In reply to Pacy
You're absolutely right when it comes to TV rights $ dwarfing the attendance numbers $, but they didn't need to have a Fort Lauderdale match to do that, could've left it in the Windies. Unless they want to draw in a more pro-India crowd or something, but that's me clutching at straws.
I need to call my sister-in-law's mother-in-law who lives in south Florida, find out if she's going (she loves cricket). Price may be a bit much for her though.
Update on the Parking!
I got an email back from the folks at the stadium and their response is
Thanks for your inquiry."
In reply to googley
