Grateful for any insights or opinions from fans on Cornwall College's Jourdaine Fletcher and Clarendon College's Creggton Charlton.
I have only seen Fletcher twice on SportsMax and Charlton once at Sabina and once on Sporsmax, but they seem a cut above the others. Fletcher looks like he has the skills that a striker needs to be born with, including keen opportunism and awareness.
Charlton looks like a good dribbler and we have not seen one of those for years.

I don't have any football connections but if they are good footballers and good students you would need to do A LOT to get them out of Ja. It is now a very competitive area. Schools buying ballers and don't even care if they are good students.
Two years ago the headmaster at KC put his foot down and said he was not keeping any ballers who were not good students. By the time he was finished talking the youths were registered and dressed, some in light blue and some in maroon and gold. Jeorgino Johnson even played briefly for Ja as an 18 yr old, shortly after wearing the maroon and gold.
BTW don't follow XDFIX - both of them youths should be around 18 yr old.

Come on, JC!

It looks like a clash of JC offence against Wolmers defence. Two solid, well coached teams. Normally defence trumps offence at championship level but I suspect the JC offence will be to crafty for Wolmers.
I will be watching as an objective observer.
I have no dog in this fight.

Fortis. Thank you for a good game.
Not a bad couple days. The boys took the Corporate Area Under 16 title, lost the final in the Under 14 and won the Walker cup in style.
Have no horses in the races this year (Excelsior and Camperdown didn't make it) but good to see the titles spread around.
Congrats to all the winners.

On behalf of the winners, you're welcome.
Look forward to the days when Aggie and C'Down will be back in contention.
I was talking to a 1960's track star from Morant Bay recently who told me that his father sent him to sixth form at KC, but the bus from Morant Bay stopped at Aggie first and his friends told Dr. Powell that he was a good runner. The rest is history.
Please keep me and other track fans up to date as we transition into the season.

I can tell you that both schools are making a serious efforts to be in the mix for track and field especially XLCR under coach David Riley
The first meet is the Wesley Powell/Heart Institute meet at XLCR.

I noticed you made no comment last week about FERVET. I assume you FORGET.
Good luck on Saturday.

Though I attended JC, I have a soft spot for Cornwall. I worked with a number of young chess players at Cornwall, when I moved to MoBay to live. Cornwall is the school my son would've attended, before we made the decision to migrate to the UK. Cornwall is my second school...anyone can win the Olivier Shield, and I will still be happy.

Anything to report from the Powell Meet? Any evidence to support the rumours of a long distance running revival? Any young Mytons spotted?
