Is the 369 chase a record of some sort?

voiceofreason 2016-11-21 19:55:43

Lot of runs to chase down in FC but is it a record for 4th innings chases in regional cricket? Trying to find it on cricket archive or cricinfo but nada.

It's not just a win this is good for regional cricket, this will serve west Indies cricket well. If we can find six competitive teams I don't think we will have a hard time finding eleven good players to put of the park

The effort by Hurricanes eclipsed the previous best run chase back in 1983 when Windward Islands overhauled 368 to beat Trinidad and Tobago by two wickets at Queen’s Park Oval.

Just as I thought. Thanks Bro. CMG as well.

This is a great day for Leewards Cricket!

Oh btw we snapped their 18 match unbeaten streak!

According to SN, 369 run chase was record...

Thought that would be the case. West indies chased down 418 so 369 not to far off from that. It is an incredible feat for a young talented team and bodes well for them going forward.

The lixx like it got you so bazordee that you cannot differentiate between highest 4th innings chases an highest 4th innings totals. I found that yesterday I just could not find the Regional 4th innings chase for a victory!

Good that you show your face after that beatdown yesterday! smile

good chase, remember I call it first

lol

Yes you did call it first but I must admit I had my doubts but that is based on past experiences. I felt some relief when the Muddies started to bowl negative lines.

Learn to read

There's enough info for you to deduce that 369 is no where near the record for chase.

Let me break it down for you
If it's a 4th innings score and you won then....figure the rest

but is it a record for 4th innings chases in regional cricket

So you return with your usual pompous know it all self.

First of all I said regional first class Record. Yet you post irrelevant matches of other FC countries. I never said World Record as those are the same figures I found...Oh yes I know how to use the internet.

Secondly, the only match record of relevance is TNT vs Barbados 576/8 which ended in a draw.

Maybe you should learn how to read and comprehend...Then again why bother when you know it all.

Feel a bit embarrassed ent?

Records are meant to be broken so perhaps you all may return the favor at Providence. smile

I've been following the former Combined Islands later split to the Leewards-Windwards from a school boy.

Viv had such a tremendous influence on the Leewards that almost every batsman emerging after him was of the no nonsense aggressive variety. Who could forget Livingstone Lawrence,Enoch Lewis,Luther Kelly and Ralston Otto and the spin of Derek Parry and Noel Guishard? That one fast bowler Roberts was the devastating godfather of all the pacers to come in the WI.

After Ambrose and the Benjamins finished their bowling fell off and it was Stuart Williams and to a lesser extent Sylvester Joseph and that late cricketer whose name escapes me right now always fondly remembered for his granny.

This revival led by Cornwall and Hodge and co warms my heart. We need a competitive Leewards!
