In reply to deanjones
"How do you pull a ball to backward point?" Reverse pull
In reply to tops
I was thinking the same, I never saw the reverse sweep until a couple of years ago, very few WI players have mastered it.

Look like the the jaguars turn pussies
These Bajan boys of this team ain' fraid spin.
1.They have played against India,Sri Lanka and Pak
2. They see a Bajan Chairman of Selectors and see Bajans getting pick.
3. They also have a boss batting coach in Emmerson Trotman.
This whole Bajan batting line-up mentally confident against West Indian spinners.
OF COURSE IT WASN'T LIKE THAT JUST RECENTLY.
YOU WOULD NEED LANCE GIBBS,JUMADEEN, INSHAN ALI, HOLFORD AND HOWARD!
In reply to analyst-kid
Correct, only in the Ryan Hinds era did bajans not like spin, Reifer bowling well

Permaul bowling. Stoute on 0 surrounded by 2 close slips and a silly mid off.
224-6 in 81 overs. Dowrich 35*, Stoute 2*.
Motie continues from the other end, to Stoue, who is again surrounded. Nearly bowls Stoute with an arm ball. Stoute had to dig it out in ungainly fashion.
In reply to tc1
Look like the the jaguars turn pussies
Bim 224-6
How de pussies doing?

In reply to Narper
Carter continues to stink up in FC yet makes the senior side like many
226-6 in 83 overs.
Motie to Stoute again. Raps him with another arm ball and the loud appeal is turned down! Maiden.
226-6 in 84 overs.
Permaul continues. Three off the over.
229-6 in 85 overs. Dowrich 39* looking confident and good.
Another maiden from Motie, to Dowrich. Bajans watching Motie like a cobra. He is the future of Guyana, and probably WI, spin.
Permaul to Stoute now. Clouted nicely over long on for SIX, into the empty stands!!!!
235-6. Dowrich 39*, Stoute 9*.
Motie continues, to Dowrich. Sweeps the 1st ball behind square for 1.
236-6 in 88 overs.
New ball taken.
Dowrich to face K Joseph, with 2 slips and a gully. Drives thru the covers for 4! Bouncer on off, pulled but top-edged, and Dowrich is well caught for 44 by a running Hetmyer!!!!!
Pride 240-7, right on the tea break!
Barbados 240/7 (tea)
Stoute 9*
OUT: Dowrich 44 Carter 0 Hope 72 Chase 58 Brooks 41 Alleyne 8 Brathwaite 6
Wkts: Reifer 1 Joseph 2 Motie 2 Permaul 1
In reply to Runs
I have tried to keep an open mind on Carter after the accolades given to him here....but its been years now....I am yet to see why carter has a place in any WI team....Deo the slacker has done better but discarded early o'clock
In reply to Narper
In reply to Narper
Carter has the talent but evidently lacks the head. His support is probably coming from the likes of Lloyd, who longs to pull off another fluke like he did with Holding.
Deo is even worse than Carter. Less talent, and head no better.
In reply to Narper
Where is the audio today?
The Radio station seem to be off line today
Pride not very far away from the Guyana score. What matters here are bonus points - for Pride if they pass 300, and for Jaguars if they dismiss Pride, and if their fast bowlers get wickets.
K Joseph bowling. He makes fast bowling look easy. No-balled for a 3rd bouncer over the shoulder in the same over! Barnwell drops a low catch at 2nd slip next ball!
Reifer to Greaves. Wide outside off and driven thru the covers for 4!!! Pride goes to 260-7.
Joseph again. Stoute edges straight to L Johnson at 1st slip and it is DROPPED!
Bajan lower order batsmen being made to hop around by Joseph here!
Reifer again - and there goes the commentary - ah, it's back! Gone again.
272-7 in 96 overs, as Joseph goes back to his mark in businesslike fashion. Pride determined to take batting points here, by getting to 300.
279-8 in 99 overs. Stoute still there on 20*, with Roach on 0*.
Looks like Permaul replacing Reifer. Why not Motie?
Comms say about 200 spectators are at the ground.
Big crowd of 200
K Joseph continues. No, it's Barnwell. Wayward delivery down leg goes past Bramble for 4 more! Pride 284-8 in 99 overs. Stoute 28*.
Permaul again.
Stoute given out lbw to Permaul to one that might be hitting leg, after some deliberation. The batsman tried to turn an arm ball to square leg. A replay would have been interesting here.
Drinks cart comes on.
Pride 284-9.
Why not declare, there is no 1st inning points?
In reply to openning
Batting points if you reach 300 in a certain amount of overs
In reply to sudden
There is also bowling points for ten wickets.
This management staff losing the plot
Pride all out, for 288 in 104 overs, as commentary resumes. Permaul 4-68. Light roller on. Jaguars to face 11 overs tonight.
so you try to reach 300 and declare.
In reply to analyst-kid
I would had declared at the fall of Stoute's wicket, and put Guyana on the back foot.
In reply to openning
too much cerebral thinking for our cricketers and coach/staff
Well done Guyana now get some quick runs
Chandrika gone lbw Roach first ball!!!!
Comms reminiscing Jaguars' collapse to lose, while chasing 69.
Drop Chandrika please
In reply to analyst-kid
Thats what it all about
In reply to Runs
The "Test" player from Everest, the GCB's biggest supporter?
Chandrika gawn for a blob 1st ball
Roach looking good. Lots of carry, and good seam. Pride players looking enthusiastic.
Jags 1-1 in 1 over.
Chase(!) to bowl. Over the wicket, with a silly mid off and silly mid on. Some turn. Comm seems to be in panic! 2 slips brough in. Johnson drives one wide outside off to covers for 2. Drives again to the covers for 4 more!
Jags 7-1 in 2 overs. Johnson 7*, Hetmyer 0*.
Hetmyer to face his first ball, from Roach. Play delayed by repairs to the popping crease, outside the right-hander's off stump.
1. Hetmyer ducks the bouncer. 2. Next one left alone outside off. 3. Defends solidly. 4. No ball! Left alone outside off. 4. Hetmyer hooks at the bouncer. Edges it into his helmet and it lobs high behind the keeper for 2 lucky runs. 5. Tickled to fine leg for 1. 6. Defended well by Johnson.
Jags 12-1 in 3 overs. Johnson 7*, Hetmyer 3*, Extras 2.
Chase again, to Hetmyer. Hetmyer drives it past point for 4! Edges in the air between the keeper and Paint at first slip for 4!
Jags 20-1 in 4 overs. Hetmyer 11*, Johnson 7*.
Roach again, to LJ. Edged into the thigh painfully. Bouncer hooked over square leg for SIX by Johnson!
66666666666666666666666666666666666666666 Johno off Roach
Another no ball by Roach.
Jags 27-1 in 5 overs. Johnson 13*, Hetmyer 11*.
Chase again, to Hetmyer. Drives him to the covers for 1.
Johnson drives at a good length one outside off, and is CAUGHT at extra cover.
Jaguars 28-2 in 5.4 overs. Left-handed batsman Motie in.
Roach continues, to Hetmyer. Leaves it alone. Again. Closer to the stumps, but left alone again. Driven straight, but fielded at mid on for no run. Drives, but misses one just outside off. Left again. Maiden.
Jaguars 28-2 in 7 overs.
Chase again, to Motie. Edges safely to the gully for 1.
Jaguars 29-2 in 8 overs.
Motie to face Roach now! Hetmyer has a quick word with him.
1. Defends a rising ball on off easily. 2. Ducks a nasty bouncer! 3. Short, rising on off. Defended well. No ball called. 3. Short on off again. Defended. 4. Rising on middle. Defended solidly. 5. Goes thru to the keeper outside off. 6. Plays forward but it goes thru just past the edge to the keeper.
Jaguars 30-2 in 9 overs.
Chase again, to Hetmyer. Bounce and turn. Cracked into the covers for 2.
Jaguars 32-2 in 10 overs. Hetmyer 14*, Motie 1*.

Momentum with Pride at the moment. Jaguars have to hold on first, but they will have to decide when to declare too.
Jaguars will probably look to get to 180 in 3 hours tomorrow, and set Pride about 200 to win. Considering the loss to the Leewards after declaring, however, Jaguars will be hesitant to declare again.
In reply to Norm
Draw game
In reply to tc1
Any result still quite possible, but the Jaguars' recent loss may put them at a disadvantage psychologically. With Jaguars currently taking a few more points than Pride out of this game, Pride has very little to lose, so they will be pushing hard tomorrow.
Johnson and Chandrika have really struggled in this tournament
In reply to Norm
did you attend the game, how Roach looks
In reply to Runs
Chandrika was his usual failing self.
In reply to tc1
Am following on the internet.
Roach is looking very good, but is being plagued by no balls. He looks fit, and is bowling with good pace and control. I won't be surprised to see him in the WI team again soon.
K Joseph was looking good too. Good pace and decent control. With Gabriel and Alzarri, there will be healthy competition for WI spots for the fast bowlers soon.
Rain?
In reply to natty_forever
I believe they will start in the next half an hour.
It is a day/night match
In reply to tc1
It seems that Roach always need to be playing a lot of cricket to regain any form.
As Roach keeps bowling and bowling he will get better and better.
Kraigg Brathwaite also seems to get certain players to perform for him. He elevates Chase in front Warrican and Chase gets early wickets.
