The previous administration was quite fine tenk you,
eh Sammy?
BBC
"The way we structure our cricket, we're not going anywhere," added 33-year-old Sammy, who has played 38 Tests.
"I'm very scared we will be relegated to be playing against Ireland and Scotland. It's very sad for us.
"If you really have West Indies cricket at heart you will have the right players for all the formats playing and helping you get to tournaments."
In response to Sammy's comments, the WICB released a statement which read: "Our player-related issues are being handled by the Director of Cricket, Cricket Committee, WIPA and players.

We are just about ready to start an exciting series against India.
Let's see what excitement the one man and his dog who bother to show up derives from the matches.

No wonder we cannot get anywhere because of myopic foolish thinking like this.

What is interesting here is the haste with which Cricket West Indies issued a response to Sammy's comments. Sammy appears to be a very powerful anti-CWI voice. CWI obviously shares that opinion.

It seems to me that those in the WICBC
are afraid of Ex Players & Current Players making comments regarding
West Indies Cricket .
Perhaps these Goons have never heard
about the fact that in Democratic Countries :
PEOPLE HAVE THE RIGHT TO EXPRESS
THEIR OPINIONS ON ANYTHING THAT
THEY CHOOSE TO DO WITHOUT FEAR .

Of course, Sammy is correct. We have achieved minnow status in the 50-over format; we are close to minnow status in test cricket; and will reach minnow status in the T20 format if the stars are banished from the team. Something needs to be done about the eligibility criteria pronto.

I can't believe the selectors have picked the same side to play against India.
I have come to the conclusion that this administration and selection panel are more interested in proving a point that winning.
Win or lose Comrade Cameron keeps his salary and the selection committee their contracts. Windies fans suffer or give up caring.

Why don't you believe it?
You are one of many people on this board that chastised the so called "prime donnas". You referred to them as mercenaries, greedy, selfish, and not interested in WI cricket.
The WICB has embarked on a clear path to invest in this current group of players. It did not begin with the Cameron administration, even though Cameron was VP at the time.
The WICB and their selectors decision to stick to the players who they have identified as the ones to go forward with is not an unreasonable one.
I don't agree with the teams they have selected but it's within their right to select who they want. They see players way more than I do. Time will tell if their investment has paid off.
But to chastise them because they playing the guys that they've invested in is somewhat unfair. Especially someone like you who advocated for the likes of Gayle, Bravo, Russell, Pollard, Narine etc to be dropped.
Is only now since your "dear leader" Sammy critical of WICB you jump on his bandwagon. In that regard, you no different than vor

And what point would that be; how much more they can plumb the depth of futility, vindictiveness & incompetence?
How much longer are we supposed to wait on Hillaire's much touted "Star Team" - instead of a Prima Donna -invested "Team Of Stars"- that was supposed to bear fruit, 3 years from 2009-10?

I feel sorry for you if you believe that and even more sorry for our cricket. What motivates you to support wrong over right? the oppressor over the oppressed.
Do you seriously believe Cameron and the bullies that administer our cricket deserve the salaries they take or the job they hold on to?

My evaluation of Sammy is that he is a mediocre cricketer (t20 excluded) with a big ego and loves to hear and see himself on social media. He posts pictures of himself almost daily. Do people who behave that way understand the dangers of narcissism?
His t20 success and homeland demigod status makes him think he's qualified to criticize the administrators at will but, in the end he should remember where he got his start and that t20 hit and giggle is not the center of West Indies cricket.
Why does he and the other Prima Donnas NOT make themselves available for PCL and Super50? Do they really care about West Indies cricket or only glory and lucre?

I have a few question I would really like you to answer.
Is cricket a spectator sport?
Can you name one player on this just announced team any cricket loving fan would waste money paying to see play?
In certain businesses as an administrator, one must cover all the angles. This management style of CWI is archaic and it will never ever be successful. It is a throwback to the old plantation days where only "yes men" were allowed to function but not without trepidation.
Look at Jimmy Adams, an intelligent man and the moment he tried to put forward his ideas with a view of improving West Indies cricket he was hauled in and put in his place.
What kind of organization operates in such a manner? I can answer that - an organization full with educated fools.

As I said. For me, that's not our best squad. But it is the squad of players the selectors and board have earmarked for the foreseeable future.
The current criteria to play for WI in a particular format of the game is established. I don't agree with it, but it is what it is.
Given that criteria, this is about the best squad give or take one or two, they can select. And when/if players fail, it doesn't make sense to drop them right away if you TRULY investing in them. And drop them to play who?
To be clear, the best team should play
The current eligibility criteria is asinine and should be discarded henceforth if not sooner.
And for those who bawlin that we lost with those "best players". ....it still doesn't make them worse than the crew that playing now

You have sought to confuse two different things while at the same time in agreement with me that this might not be the best team selected.
If the intent is to start winning, I would want a winning team. That team selected will not beat India.
Now, if you want to go back to the bad old days of "prima donnas", you're purposely mixing up two completely different arguments - apple and oranges - to confuse the issue.
Without further ado, let's leave this argument where we agree.

$ammy should take over WIPA replacing/displacing the hapless Wavell.
Yes, finally he would earn the 'Dear Leader' moniker as dubbed by his adoring fans.
