A.B Barath

It was a shame how the Westindian selectors flung out Barath from the Windies team,it was clear that was done to have Powell as the opener.Barath could have been on this team had he not been treated in such a nasty way.If Barath comes back to the game, get some practice, and play some club matches, he'll be better than the lot in England, he's still young.

I thought Barath gave up the game rather than the other way around

I think we all thought so. Well not granite.

Very talented guy though. A shame.

Barath also got dropped from the TT team for non-performance.

He's has turned to god. He's probably a preacher by now.

Too many demons of all sorts in cricket for him.

Come on mate,i thought you knew better,he was jettisoned from the team after the England tour,he didn't live up to expectations, but didn't do so bad as to drop him completely. He wasn't selected for the Bangladesh tour, and it was simply to give their"blue eyed boys" the chance to consolidate their position.they are still facking consolidating.Barath gave up,in my opinion because he saw it as unfair,he is probably the type who will not take shit from shithong selectors,so telling them to fack off was his way. With a season back in the game he could easily be better than the bunch ah wankers I see here in England.

cool

Barath.

Wasn't that one of the countless aliases associated with the infamous poster, Alien?

In reply to VIXThat's true, but I feel the dropping from the Windies team played on his mind,it so easily could do.I saw him in England Lords make a 40 odd against a top England attack,he looked so comfortable against the pace, his shots weren't flashy or wild,he looked like one who was there to stay.It was so cold people were wearing Winter coats.Anyway Barath is not the only one who suffered at the hands of those facking skunting selectors.I give Barath credit for sticking up 2 fingers up at them.

if what you say is true then AB was clearly too mentally weak to make it.

old story, move on.

Barath got more help and support than most West Indies cricketers. He was responsible for his non selection not WICB. This is the one rare occasions where they aren't wrong

A lil boy who was tearing the regional teams at 16,not scared of pace, scored 100 on debut against the best attack in world cricket at the time, and that potential was snuffed out in no time.He should have been selected to tour Bangladesh, that is the help he needed. The selectors took the one they knew they wanted for long term,Powell, they wanted to make sure that Powell had no competition. The fact that they could have used AB as a middle order batsman never dawned on those idiots.

Say what, Coach Gibson sent him 'round the track like him is a track star?

Oh sorry, someone else said that.
