Curtly Ambrose eyes Ottis Gibson’s job in ...

West Indies legend Curtly Ambrose would be keen to join England’ crickets coaching team should Ottis Gibson become head coach of South Africa.

“If an opportunity came from England I would certainly take it because I have something to offer,” Ambrose told the Daily Mail.

“I would be very interested in returning to international cricket.”

What Level coaching certificate does Curtly have?

During the 48-year-old’s tenure, England’s seam attack has flourished with the likes of Toby Roland-Jones, Jake Ball and Mark Wood coming through to support experienced duo James Anderson and Stuart Broad.

Broad credited Ottis Gibson’s work after he surpassed Ian Botham to become England’s second-highest Test wicket-taker in the first Test with the Windies, Joe Root’s side winning by an innings and 209 runs.

I highlighted this section of the article for my dear friend Andy smile

I have heretofore been joking around with you, but here is a serious question.

What did Gibson do that has resulted in you carrying feelings all this time? How long has he been gone? 3 years?

Ambrose is an interesting fella. He lobbied unsuccessfully for the WI head coaching job after Gibson was "fired." Now he is expressing interest in the England bowling coach job after another Gibson departure.

I don't know what level coaching certificate Ambrose has, but he would be more likely to find employment as a bowling consultant with South Africa.

No love lost between those two. I think Phil was vex that Curtly was acting like he was the WI head coach after Phill was appointed to the job.

I just keep it real.
Do u ever see me bringing him up randomly?
Its only when u guys start over worshiping him I bring a dose of reality.

Truth is I think Gibson is a decent-good bowling coach but certainly not a great one.
Overrated for England bowlers home successes, something most teams have been doing, dominating at home.

As a Head Coach however he was a complete shithound.

Was Phil Simmons a complete shithound as a head coach?

So you really think I was serious when I posted that Ottis was the greatest bowling coach in the history of mankind??? lol lol lol

Those statements are made with the specific intent of riling up the Ottis haters on this board. Jacksprat obviously figured this out and has not taken the bait ...

Did Phil Simmons apply for the South African coaching job?

I do not know, but I will ask certain people a question.

I was going to ask Andy how two shitehound coaches could win T20 World Cups. If he responded that it's the players that won the World Cup, not the coaches, I would then ask why is he casting blame on Ottis for his team's recent loss to the WI.

BTW, Phil Simmons still refers to Ottis as his teacher smile

I doh know u. U could be talking out ur arse, I dont know. Not a mind reader.
And u are not the only one who talk about Otis, anything ENG does well, TheTrial starts a thread.

Was Phil Simmons a complete shithound as a head coach?

Seeing his successes with Ireland, I'd say no.
Otis has had 1 stint as a head coach and he was a failure.

I would then ask why is he casting blame on Ottis for his team's recent loss to the WI.

If u get credit when they win only natural to call out when u lose.
