Tarzan tearing tail in CPL

He on his way to another ton right now
14.4
Jerome Taylor to Dwayne Smith, SIX, smoked it! What a shot. Slower full ball outside off, Smith gets low and fetches it from there. Slog-sweeps Taylor over deep mid-wicket for a mammoth six
14.3
Jerome Taylor to Dwayne Smith, FOUR, juicy full toss down leg, Smith helps it away behind square on the leg-side with a pick-up shot. There was a man in the deep. All he could do was watch it bullet away into the fence

Dwayne Smith *68 (47

Watson to Dwayne Smith, SIX, second century for Smith in this season. He is pumped up. Short ball outside off, Smith stands tall and slaps it over extra cover. Smith is now the leading century maker in the history of CPL

The selectors pay absolutely no attention to form when selecting.

I swear those lazy skunts just copy and paste

Jerome Taylor is a liability to the team. He cannot contain the batsmen once they are on the go. Emrit or Santokie would have been a better pick!

analyst-kid Sep 3, 2017, 11:34:50 PM

The return of Gayle and Samuels brings serious stability and competitiveness to the batting as ODI modern cricket requires at least four top order players who can bat 10 overs consistently at a run a ball. In Gayle Hope, Samuels and Mohammed Wi have that.

WI in serious trouble re their ODI pace bowling though...only the spinners Nurse and Bishoo can boast of sub 30 ave performances against the leading ODI teams. A spinner who can bat like Chase should only be dropped for a Permaul or Hosein as Narine is unavailable.

Taylor,Gabriel,Joseph, Roach ,Holder have all gone for licks with little wickets against the top teams. Miguel Cummins with only 7 ODIs under his belt would have to show he is something different.
WI need a world class ODI pace bowler...until they find one all the top teams will score heavy against them unless the spinners get lucky.

What is the problem with the WI selectors and Santokie?

I would want any two of Simmons, Ramdin, Mohamed or Samuels (in form) in my middle order in a T20.

In reply to VoopsandOut... why not all 4?

Who are the guys who did well in the just-concluded CPL?

Carlos Brathwaite (Captain) - 151 runs @ SR of 146.60 & 10 wkts @ ER of 7.72 (not enough runs, but good with the ball)
Chris Gayle - 376 runs @ SR of 127.02
Evin Lewis - 371 runs @ SR of 184.57
Sunil Narine 159 runs @ SR of 137.06 & 12 wkts @ ER of 5.39
Kieron Pollard - 264 runs @ SR of 150 & 8 wkts @ ER of 7.50
Chadwick Walton - 458 runs @ SR of 145.85
Kesrick Williams - 15 wkts @ ER of 9.53 (bit expensive, but he took wickets)
Ronsford Beaton - 11 wkts @ ER of 7.71

Who are the guys who did not?

Jason Mohammed - 292 runs @ SR of 106.18 (pedestrian, compared to McCarthy)
Ashley Nurse - 1 wkt @ Sr of 10.66 (struggled to make TKR team)
Rovman Powell - 173 runs @ SR of 125.36 & 5 wkts @ ER of 11.35 (inconsistent)
Marlon Samuels - 130 runs @ SR of 113.04 (poor)
Jerome Taylor - 8 wkts @ ER of 9.54 (expensive)

We have five guys in the squad who did not do well in the CPL. Dwayne Smith has retired from WI cricket, so who should be there instead? Take your pick....

Andre McCarthy - 292 runs @ SR of 127.51
Andre Fletcher - 286 runs @ SR of 123.27
Krishmar Santokie - 14 wkts @ ER of 7.69
Kevon Cooper - 12 wkts @ ER of 7.02
Sheldon Cottrell - 11 wkts @ ER of 6.57
Rayad Emrit - 15 wkts @ ER of 7.60
