Will D Bravo will be included for Zimbawae

CricketFan 2017-10-02 14:25:37

I would say Logically Yes, but with Browne as chief selector any thing is possible.

I feel Darren and Evin Lewis will both make the test squads..
dropping Kyle Hope and R Reifer.. from the England Touring team

imusic 2017-10-02 14:31:31

It will first depend on whether Darren Bravo is available to play

If he's available to play, then you can ask the question

Do they want to play test cricket just before a t20s tournament in bangladesh?

In reply to imusic

If he's available, there is no justifying leaving him out. A 40 test average for what, some 25s??

In reply to jen

I've seen a post saying that Darren Bravo shouldn't be selected because he will negatively affect team chemistry.

So you never know

Keep Reifer..drop Cummins..i hear people comparing Cummins to Gabriel..Gabriel always had raw pace..something to work with.

If Cummins couldnt get the ball to move in England..in September..whats his purpose then?

Military medium with no discipline or moveemnt..wasted pick

To be fair, I think Cummins took 6 wickets in an innings against India recently. Maybe that's one of the things why the selectors keep persisting with him.

Despite the thrashing he took at the end of the innings, I'm sure his 3 wickets against England in the 3rd ODI also helps to keep him top of mind for the selectors.

Also...remember he's only played 6 tests and a few ODI's

Never saw Cummins as much. Gets flustered way too easily. Cannot workout good batsmen. Couple of boundaries and he goes to pieces. Seen it way too often while playing for Bim.

No express pace and getting thrash around? Take a leaf out of Ian Bradshaw's book...at least be accurate...I have no confidence in Cummins...he needs to come back to FC cricket and lead the young Bajan pace attack.

DIEHARD 2017-10-02 15:13:24

In reply to analyst-kid

Exactly..that should be his thing..you could always rely on Braddy to keep things quiet.and wait on a batsman's error..Cummins has never looked like doing that in international level.

I feel like that 6fer against India included a couple gifts..he averaging 45, and takes a wicket every 13 overs in Tests

Cummins spins around, appeals, tumbles, and celebrates. He has Kohli lbw. Umpire Llong's finger goes up. Incoming ball on a good length at 137ks. Kohli plays down the wrong line and falls over. Rapped on the front pad. Impact may have been just a shade outside off, but umpire's call it is. The tracker shows that it would hit middle

Rohit fails to add to his overnight tally. He suggests that he had nicked that. And replays pick up the inside edge. Good length and angled in from over the wicket, Rohit pushes with a straight bat and edges it onto his back pad. Umpire Llong raises his finger. Rohit has to exit

Saha has been given out caught behind by umpire Llong. Cummins celebrates for the second time in the morning. Wait, wait. He has overstepped, replays show. And it has not been called a front-foot no-ball. That wasn't referred either. Second wrong decision of the morning. Back of a length and close to off, cramps the batsman for room and kicks up at him. Saha shapes to cut and ends up feathering behind to Dowrich

should have been a 3-fer..India was rushing to declare as well...selectors need to look past the figures for this one lol

Jadeja holes out and Cummins completes his maiden five-for. Will Kohli call them in? Nope, Ashwin walks out to the middle. Full and angling away from Jadeja outside off, he has a biiiiiiig swing and ends up skying a catch to cover. Tumbling catch from Samuels

Kraigg
Opener
Lil Bravo
Shai Hope
Chase

Not a bad 4 out of 5 to be honest.

Hetmyer should be given a chance to play again...

Hety can get a look in....especially if Darren Bravo isn't around. If Darren Bravo is in the mix though...it will be tough for him to break into the middle order.

Shai Hope
Lil B
Chase
Blackwood

Is Hety a keeper? If so, he might just take Dowrich's place at some point.

nah not a keeper

agree...if DB not in then he should given that he's on the periphery

Hettie should probably get a try in ODIs and not test. His technique will leave him exposed to sad start to his test career. In ODI's it won't be such a big problem. We need ODI players who can keep things rolling and Hettie is one of those players. Darren Bravo One Day average is only 33 at a strike rate of 69, he's no invincible in that format. Lil B & Shai Hope together won't be much different than Hope & Samuels together to be honest.

I listened to a regional game a few years back, Bessie was commenting on his bowling, getting the ball to moved both ways, and was out-bowling his partners.
His injury has really put him back, his pace and moving the ball seem to have eluded him.
Nothing work and practice cannot solve.

Darren and Shai are stroke makers and will eventually upper their strike rate, they are natural players and will get better at placing the ball in the gaps.I have noticed Shai improvement since he started 3 years ago, his placing of the ball in the gaps has improved a lot.

Why wouldn't Darren Bravo be available? It's jus Zimbabwe not England in England....

Easier tour for newbies, you think ! Were I a betting man, betting that WI will defeat Zimbabwe is not a bet I would place, even with the best team that WI can put together.

Its an easier tour than England, however Zimbabwe is on the rise and I see it as an even contest.

Hola...dont know what sort of deal/compromise was made but DARREN BRAVO should never ever get an opportunity to wear WI colors again.....this man irrespective of his high average is disruptive and will not add value to this team..
he can twitter and cuss me out but he is not needed.

What is the basis for your opinion? There is no history of this player being a bad team player.

anthonyp 2017-10-03 08:40:46

De longer he stays out the harder it will be to make the test team..
