Ambris ...Techincal or a Flaw?
Got to be technical.

Why? He seems to 'ride' the short ball well enuff to be 'out' taking the single off it.I think it's just a flaw. A inch or two forward went taking his batting stance should solve it.
Just my take on it.

It's both!

A batsman stepping on his wicket in a lifetime is so rare...stepping on it two out of three innings...well, errr!!! there is no word or combination of words in the world to describe it.

It's both!

I've seen a few step on their wickets not hard enuff for the bails to come off. Others simple just quietly put the bails back on if the opposition don't see the incident and appeal.

Since it's not something that ever happened to him before it is doubtful it can be sorted out in the nets. The pressure and intensity of Test cricket sometimes reveal all kinds of flaws.

to be honest in our first class league he could have easily stepped on once or twice and quietly pull it on back without anyone noticing

Nonsense

seen it before in the test level. a player plays off the backfoot takes 2 runs and simple replace the bail. even the cameras and commentator didn't pick it up till after the replay.
I do not understand the need to bat so far back in your wicket that you give yourself no chance of avoiding such a demise.
A short of a length ball now becomes a short ball for you, but pulling or hooking cannot be achieved without swiveling. The outcome is inevitable.
When situations such as these flaws arise, isn't it time for the coaches to earn their paycheck?
Just saying. :

Don't think he bats that far back in his crease. Think the issue is he jumps back too far.
I hope the coaches will work with Ambris soon his obvious technical flaws. So it really begs the question as to the role of our local regional coaches. Why let this young batsman get to the senior level with such an obvious flaw? Similar to not sorting out the suspect bowling actions of some bowlers before they reach the senior teams

My feelings exactly.
We sometimes blame the players for something that they may or may not be aware of.
Coaches should be held accountable for these shortcomings.
That is the reason for having a coach, right?
In reply to Slipfeeler
Since it never happened to him before, according to coach Law, it might not have been that obvious a flaw.

Local coaches need to take responsibility for such dereliction of their duties in not attending to any fundamental flaws by players promoted to the senior team.
