I am referring to ICC T20 Internationals - country vs country.
I have no doubt if Gayle were playing T20 for the WI often, he would challenge Kohli for that high average.
BTW, according to the Icc and others, If you have an average over 50 in any format, you are considered "Great" or on the road to greatness. How Kohli ends up in that format is another story.

OK I get you. Country vs country stats is a good place to start if we are ever going to define greatness in T20 cricket.
When you score mucho runs against the lesser mortals like Abhisek Nayar it has to be severely discounted...got you.
