Correction. He doesn't want to play for the west indies. He always plays for his team in the CPL.

Once again why is Lewis omitted?

All I seeing is Gayle for batting.. no other batsman in the caribbean? lol

Wham to Charles? Surely he could make that jokey squad?

Oh well more licks..

Got a feeling Gayle gonna get axe when NZ put a trashing on them.. after all they will look to blame a senior player..

Lil Bravo started this "personal reasons" train. Pollard just hopped on for the ride.

imusic 2017-12-27 15:45:27

personally, I wouldn’t want to play for Dave cameron’s Team

Less Trinis...no problem. Besides...wunna have Jason Mohammed.

Windies will still win this series in a canter

Dwayne Smith would have been very helpful here...it was a stupid move for him to retire just becuz of Browne. He played in CPL and would have been eligible here.

Do they have a travel agent who can work out all the complicated travel back and forth?

Lewis was reported as injured, that is why Kyle Hope played in the last ODI.

Cussbud

The Trini's are allowed such.No one wants ta play fer the Big EDiot.

Who in their right mind would want to be with this bunch of unprepared players that CWI is sending to the slaughter? I feel sorry fer the players.

When Trini's play, you scream too much on the team.

Take ya cutarse and have another drink.

Lil B, Big B, Polly, Narine, Lewis personal reasons.

We go give ya Badree and Mohammed.

On what kinda form is Powell,Walton and JMO pushing that they can bat in front Hope?

In the last ODI series only Gayle and Hope look accomplished. Hety will score at least a run a ball but I have not seen this so far from Walton and JMO.

Powell has to bat below with Carlos.

Gayle
Walton
Fletcher
Hope
Powell
Carlos
Emritt
Nurse
Badree
Cottrell
Williams

analyst-kid 2017-12-27 21:29:22

You HAVE to play Hope. You need at least Three GUYS at the top who can bat 10 overs consistently at the top to carry you to 70-80 in the first ten overs, then the power hitters to carry you over 150 in the next tento 180.

Gayle can bat 10 overs scoring at a good rate. Not seen it from Walton yet, hoping that Fletcher brings that last WC form....but you KNOW Hope can bat 10 overs for sure at a run a ball if he tries.

jacksparrow 2017-12-27 22:22:00

ok guess I missed that. We should be good at this format, but I guess a lot depends on Gayle to stick around.Walton maybe.I done forget the beatdown, we starting fresh again! big grin big grin big grin

Watch the ride if Hope plays

Which T20 league has he ever played or scored heavily in?

This just a hunch that he can do a Jacques Kallis?

imusic 2017-12-28 00:31:14

No hunch. Analyst basin he hope purely because he bajan

Which ODI player who can occupy the crease fails to occupy the crease in T20s?

Hope's role is similar to Samuels...hold the innings together should Gayle fail.

analyst-kid 2017-12-28 07:42:16

Hope avgs 33.20 in Tests and 35.70 in ODIs...all I am analyzing is that he should be able to avg 25-30 with a SR of 80-100 in T20s above Dwayne Bravo (24.29 SR 116.41) and Pollard (20.21 SR 132.1cool in T20s.

DIEHARD 2017-12-28 07:49:22

What's the sample size analyst-kid?

What a misnomer lol

analyst-kid 2017-12-28 07:53:08

What sample size? The team is packed with power hitters Gayle (who is exceptional cause he could hold an end at this level) Fletcher,Walton,Powell and Carlos.

Common sense tells me against NZ we need someone who is reliable enough to hold one end for 10-20 overs otherwise we will be 25/6 in quicktime if Gayle falls cheaply!

DIEHARD 2017-12-28 10:46:49

In reply to DIEHARD

Hopes stats are from 14 matches where as Pollard's and Bravo's are from 70 odd matches

Statistically..not reasonable to compare all 3.

You can't compare Hope's potential..to Samuels actual performance.

Samuels performed in T-20s before playing a T-20I

The kind of innings you are talking about has been done by Samuels time and time again.

And tbh..he has probably failed in his approach..more often than he has succeeded.

Kay 2017-12-28 10:51:39

What's the story here? Did Pollard say he was available when they were naming the squad and just pull out now for personal reasons? I can't imagine CWI naming players in a squad without consulting on their availability.... but then again!!!

With the unavailability of so many players, experience and in form Dwayne Smith should have been called up.
