A clip of this young guy 19 yrs old who plays for the county team Sussex was shown by BT Sport Ashes coverage at the lunch interval . Bowls 90 miles an hour swings it and bats like dynamite.
Born in Barbados but has offered his services to England. He sits for 4 yes before he qualifies .Where is our director of cricket Jimmy Adams? We can still save his soul.

Jofra Archer
In reply to Raggs
Why are you living and making a living in England?
In reply to Raggs
for 1000 dollars a match?
do u know the value of an England central contract?
he's already earning more with Sussex than he would all year playing regionals...
wake up Raggs
are you going to come back to Jamaica to serve from nice nice hingland?
In reply to openning
i didn't notice your post...
we only teasing raggs tho
In reply to doosra
It is such a dumb post, one would think Archer was sold as a slave, so the West Indies can buy him back.
IPL cricket pays more than any central eng contract. Signs one of those and your t20 career is limited.
In reply to Raggs
First he is 23 in April and will be starting his third year with Sussex...I watched him at Cardiff two years ago and had a brief chat with his dad who lives in Liverpool.
I spoke to men in the know in Barbados last year suggesting that he was he finest talent in UK ....they were dismissive of his talent ( he had played Barbados u 19 but suffered a stress fracture)....like Chris Jordan also at Sussex he is gone forever because there is no sustainable competitive cricket in West Indies...
The inability of the Cameron wicb to compromise and understand professionals must be allowed to play overseas and make a living has lost much talent to West Indies.

Freedom to choose, brother
In reply to openning
Only because he has a British passport through his Dad ....Shai Hope went to school in Sussex at Bedes. , but doesn't have the same freedom to choose....
Once players are free to choose they will obviously look for what's best for their career...and it won't be regional cricket in West Indies.if they are any good.

Why are cricketers any different to us, that came abroad to make a life, living for ourselves and families?
Jofre Archer will play for England. CJ hinted that a couple months ago.
In reply to Raggs
What happen to Jordan?
In reply to jcveletta
Still making a living playing county cricket for Sussex.
Still in the England t20s squad.

England will dump them quicker than any regional team would - these guys are hired hands!
Race also comes into play after awhile, I think!
If they're looking for career longevity, I would strongly recommend Windies first!

Race huh
Wood, Finn, Roland-Jones & Plunkett all around the fringes of the England squad too.
If Archer can get ahead of these guys then England will have unearthed a gem.

Here's the rub. Counties are only allowed to field one international player. If Archer or Jordan played for the west indies they would no longer be English players. They would become international players.
The county would then ask if Archer or Jordan are better than their current international players. If not then Archer or Jordan would be out.
It therefore suits Archer and Jordan financially to be county players even if it means they remain on the fringes of the England team. International cricket is no longer the pinnacle of the game.

I tend to agree with regard to Windies-eligible players who are eligible to play in England under a UK passport. Playing professionally in England versus trying to get in the mix in a declining Windies structure? Unless you're an otherworldly talent, the choice is easy for these young guys.
Jofra Archer... please tell me he's related to Jeffrey Archer...
In reply to Verstehen
he must be a jaffa den

Yes mate, race comes into everything including cricket especially. This is England.
Some you guys should really look into the mirror - Allyuh thinks the WI team is any different from England or Aus.
It's human nature we are dealing with...
In reply to TheTrail
There no hinting here.
I stated many times before that
he is going to play for Hingland.
He already played for them against
the Paks touring team.
In reply to TanteMerle
He has not...he played against Pakistan for Sussex .
To play for West Indies would jeopardize his contract at Sussex. To play for England requires a seven year residency which started in 2015 although it may be possible to cut this to four years.
He is already a citizen and resident of U.K.
And he would be nuts to give that up for comrade Dave ...
If Archer that talented, he has to be smart and I know and support him choosing England if he wants to be successful. He can always choose the Chesney route and come back to WI cricket after!
In reply to Raggs
nah bro, he was playing for the u-19s, got injured and was forgotten.Sussex picked him up during this period. Brother does not want to see the formerly big WI.
