Some comments on this achievement:

Sanjeevi S · Chartered Accountant at Self-Employed
Crane seems to have ben stoked so much he seems to be thinking loud as to what their coach has told him before giving him his Test Cap. Certainly he is entitled to have some fun on his debut. Wish the Australians oblige him.

Mitchell Persaud · Minister at New Horizon URC
Smith is great. But he would have to surpass Sobers in the stats to be equal - considering helmets and other protection, bouncer rules, and LBW rules, more lively pitches, and Sobers bowling stats.

Sanjeevi S
A versatile player and plays well under the utmost pressure not taking a foot of the pedal (except for his fidgeting movements). A champion bat for his side really and deserves all the accolades he's getting. Possibly the English bowlers are also wishing the same as Cummins.

Slip Catcher
Yeh, but Sobers never hid under a helmet to get to 6000, and to add to the danger, there was no rule against short bowling in Sobers's time. That's a big difference.

Danny Kerber · Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
wow you must really like Bradman's era then too smile

Danny Kerber Which nuffie doesn't?

Nobody is saying Smith is a better player than Sobers. So calm down.

Jason Vickery · Currency Trader at Infinite Prosperity
I like Cranes optimism. Forgets smith is averaging 160 with 2 tons and a double.

I can see smith with a average of 75 by careers end. Prettt insane.

It amazes me how this guy transforms from a two-bit legspinner to a full-fledged top class batsman.Koodos to him for that transformation.

I guess bowling was never his calling.

From high school days, Brooks was a very good legspinner...Not that I am comparing Brooks to Steve Smith, but he has made that transformation also and it is reaping rewards.

Bradman took about 59 innings.

Sobers and Smith took 111 innings.

it was achieved by hard work, a concept that seems alien to our players today, with the exception of Shiv, a player gets better by practicing everyday, i don't understand how a player can go on tour and sees a problem in his game and next tour it is not fixed
