Is that your wish?
In reply to Drapsey
not my wish but what I think will happen
In reply to Drapsey
Knowing how West Indians are, especially toward Jamaicans, that must be a rhetorical question.
In reply to cricketmygame
I will be surprised if that happens. IPL is a business and fans go to see Gayle. He is a hero in India.
In reply to bobby
Correct IPL is a business and franchises want to win so will they accommodate an aging failing star?
Gayle is a designated marquee player..there must be some protection against being unsold for the marquees..
1m minimum
World boss is rep
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
He will fill the seats. And will attract TV audiences. Both equal revenue.
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
T20 century at a 211.59 trike
When are you going to stop HATING `Onry

Btw,check the date of that last ton.
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
The success of the IPL is the perfect marriage of sport and entertainment. Gayle is a huge draw for tv ratings and the gate.
He will be picked up because IPL is not ran by CWI.
Case in point Gayle was transferred to St Kitts Patriots and he added value to that franchise.
Why people so bad mind?
Garfield St Aub Sobers will also go unsold
In reply to Halliwell
You know I was just thinking the same too
He will get pick but I dont think he will cross US1M.
Most he'd get is US700K IMO.
His age, declining form and fitness is going to drop his value but just thru his name he will get a decent-good deal.
Although IPL is a business teams still want to win and will not pick a player just for tv ratings.
The stores with the cuter mannequins don't always sell the most clothes...
In reply to Kay
The biggest chunk of cricket earnings is TV rights. Pakistan plays in UAE in virtually empty stadiums.
In reply to Cleg
Mr 333 why would I be hating only?
I just gave my opinion. The IPL will dump any star who has faded ask Virender.
BTW WHAT has he done since that ton?
Gayle should bat in the middle order. Send him in when the only option is to cowlash.
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
The opposing bowling attack was far from average, featuring international stars Shakib Al Hasan, Sunil Narine, Shahid Afridi, Kieron Pollard and Mosaddek Hossain.
Fuzzy as usual I see!!
How many T20 has he played since that ton???
I can see you your HATE is so strong...you didn`t even bother to read the link.
Never mind a so it go!

Btw,should Brendon McCullum not get an IPL contract as well?
In reply to Cleg
I never said Gayle shouldn't get a contract. It has nothing to do with me.
I was merely responding to the assertion that he will be picked because he brings crowd an IPL is a business.
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
You have Cleg knotted up..doesn't take much though..
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
aging failing star
...just WON the the winners` trophy for his franchise!
In reply to Cleg
...and then failed for West Indies.
Add injury prone to aging failing star
Bump

Quick someone save all those responses from the first page
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
**Yardies collectively: "Well he didn't want to play anyway, he's focused on helping the WI and his friend Dave Cameron qualify for the World Cup..."
Looking at the Mumbai squad CG or Amla have one last chance
If Gayle go now it will be for the bare minimum
In reply to cricketmygame
you were saying?
In reply to doosra
Lots of disappointed peeps on this MB....
Gayle sold to Punjab.
"For the third time, CHRIS GAYLE! Base price INR 2 crore. Is there a bid? Is there a bid? For the third time of asking ... There's a bid! KXIP make the bid for Gayle. His IPL career is not done. sold!"
That's what? US$312k? Nice piece of spending money, after the WICB get their cut....
In reply to mikesiva
Good for you Gayle, pocket some spare change and enjoy growing old.I am sure he will play a few matches and hit some sixes.
In reply to granite
i suspect this will be his last season kudos to him for being relevant at near 38
incidentally who is Sammy with this year ??
The cheer across the room when he was selected shows the respect the teams have for him. Everyone seemed to be happy to have the PD play in the tournament.
In reply to Pacy
He will be linking with Virender Sehwag who is part of the Kings setup
In reply to ponderiver
This could be a cg mohali punjabi love story
In reply to doosra
I always felt there needed to be a parting of the ways from RCB
I am not a Kolhi Hater but there is just too much drama around him ...... Daniel Vettori does not impress me either cant see him standing up to Kohli either..
Those who were worried about Mr. CH Gayle, while this may or may not be his last IPL, he is by far the most financially comfortable cricketer in the West Indies and in the top 10 on the planet. He can kick back and pay to let a professional manage his wealth. Regarding the departure from RCB, Kholi Gayle and De Villiers at the bat and where they did they finish?
In reply to ponderiver
You are not a Kohli hater, but just a Gayle baty licker..since he has not been retained by RCB and got shunted out,it is a case of sour grapes for you with RCB..
In reply to Khaga
Gayle got his price, major brands do not lower their rates as it is difficult to recover. This may be the reason he not playing in PSL after his team there failed to retain him. To offer his services on the cheap in PSL would have diminish his value in IPL. BOSS MOVE.
In reply to Khaga
you are not a Gayle hater but just a Kohli Lover
Kholi's toxic leadership has been questioned at the the highest level in India, Gayle batty lickers the lot of them ??
that you should choose to address my point with a vulgar and low class terminology says more about your real agenda here
What's really hurting you is the fact that Gayle was picked up in the IPL and the series loss to SA
oh not to mention the white flag of Surrender at Sabina Park !!
In reply to ponderiver
Yes mate that's how I see it,no shame,it's just a natural phenomenon.I feel sure he will have more to do with the IPL in the future.
In reply to cricketmygame

Ole Man (yes, he is) still got some value and love, ketching a small change.
I can watch IPL now.
