No longer one just of the greatest NFL footballers but now one of the greatest American athletes of all time, his career stats and impact on the game speak for itself

that man made me start watching American football

Tom Brady is running out of fingers to put rings on .....after last year's dramatic comeback against all odds he has taken Superbowl to a new level

After seeing the phantom PI call against the Jags I'm inclined to believe that the NFL wanted to ensure that Brady got to play in the SB.
Can you imagine a Keenum/Foles vs Bortles SB? Ratings would have been at an all-time low.

BTW Bortles was bottled up (pun intended) by the Jags play- calling in the 2nd half.

Not taking any credit away from the Pats , but even their staunchest fans would agree that their last 2 SB wins were gifted to them by the atrocious play- calling of the opposition.

Honestly I already see Brady as the GOAT of pro gridiron. The wins and numbers speak for themselves... and especially considering that among his teammates, you're not going to find many HoFers. Pretty amazing.

And yes, I agree with Priapus - Seahawks botched their last SB, and Falcons had a combination of running out of steam and failing to close the door on offense their last time out.

greatest athlete ever??

I put Jordan, Ali, Bolt and a few others above him

The voices in your head said he is the greatest athlete ever?

Brady vs Jordan would be a good debate. Both big time clutch athletes in their respective sport. Jordan won 6 championships, Brady 5 so far.

Need a stats guy to dig into the #s.

One thing for sure if Brady wins another Superbowl next week he should definitely be included in the 'greatest American athletes' conversation.

The mere fact that Brady has survived and done so well for so long in a gladiator kinda sport, I am inclined to give Brady the edge over Jordan.

I suspect that is a driving factor in how long LeBron wishes to play as well. If you stay healthy, why not stick around and see how far you can take it.

In Brady's case, heck, he's playing as well as he ever has. He's simply been the best there is at what he can do.

Brady's legacy will be tainted with controversies like deflate gate etc

Brady and Billicheck will be the greatest headcoach qb duo.
The success of the Pats has nmore to do with the coach than Brady.
Brady has a successful system in which to work.
Thats why as a 6th round draft pick, he taking pay cut after pay cut to make sure he can stay in that system.

Wouldn't the props go to his 'on field bodyguards' then? If they were shite, he'd be toast long ago, no?

Edge over who? Brady is dependent on way too many people on and off the field for me to label him a great 'athlete'.

Jordan took time off to fool around with baseball and came back to display his magic.

Tom Brady is not an athlete. He runs like a wounded giraffe.

Did Brady make his sport global like Jordan did?
