ODI Captain Stats since 1995

Cornfused 2018-01-28 17:41:59

Minimum 10 ODIs

Walsh 43 Games 53% Win Ratio

Lara 125 Games 50% Win Ratio

Hooper 49 Games 48% Win Ratio

Adams 26 Games 42% Win Ratio

Shiv 16 Games 12% Win Ratio

Gayle 53 Games 36% Win Ratio

Sammy 51 Games 39% Win Ratio

Bravo 37 Game 48% Win Ratio

Holder 49 Games 29% Win Ratio

We need not wonder why we need to play qualifiers for the ODI World Cup. The only Captian in the last 23 Years to have a lower Win Ration that Holder is Shiv. No one sees this?

DIEHARD 2018-01-28 17:58:28

I keep posting here...he is the worst ODI captain in our history...I think Shiv played some of those games with a scab team..didnt he?

Either way..20 game minimum lol

Holder is the worst forking ODI captain..EVER..Shiv prolly lost to Oz, England and SA too.

Holder team not even good enough to be asked to play any top team.

PAKISTAN..dont want us to tour..smh

Team effort, bro! Holder is just one spoke in the wheel!

ponderiver 2018-01-28 18:38:28

Walsh is the most successful ODI captain since 1995
Now who would have thought it

And Holder is the worst but he is captain for life.

anandgb 2018-01-28 19:09:48

I do not understand why people are attacking a captain for win/loss percentages in a team sport. Look at the guy's personal contribution and focus on that.
Leadership is overrated in a team sport. Some come out looking great simply because they have a great or good team. Look at Sammy and his WC wins.

Narper 2018-01-28 19:13:05

In reply to DIEHARD

Shiv realized very early he didn't have what it takes and RESIGNED

HOLDER IS HOLDING ON TO IT FOR DEAR LIFE

Don't overstate Lloyd's leadership then..he had a hugely talented bunch to lead..

based on performance.....does holder deserve a spot in the side?

When I saw Bravo's social media statement, I put it on ignore.

Narper 2018-01-28 19:18:29

Which Bravo....and what he said?

DIEHARD 2018-01-28 19:21:47

In reply to Narper

That's what gets me!!!

Why is he refusing to resign.?

Him nuh have no shame

To all my fans out there I was told under my watch as captain of the ODI team was not progressing and it’s time to move on 🤔🤔🤔..again u can trick the people of the Caribbean but Stats don’t lie..if I understand percentages well enough then the messenger get the wrong memo...

Exactly my point. In a sport where you have 11 players, each is accountable for success.

DIEHARD 2018-01-28 19:23:43

In reply to XDFIX

U right.. He's really just indicative of this paradigm shift..where personal preference and politics trumps performance..and look where we are now

anandgb 2018-01-28 19:24:09

In reply to Narper

Holder has actually been performing better than more than half of the team. so that says he alone is not responsible.

imusic 2018-01-28 19:24:46

In reply to openning

Did he state an untruth?

Or you put it on ignore because the comment was made by bravo?

openning 2018-01-28 19:28:27

Bravo failed with a team of Stars,
If Dwayne Bravo had a winning percentage, we can have a discussion, but the team in the ODI and test format has been struggling for decades.
It is the T20 team, Bravo should be talking about, because that team has been dismantle, which is a shame.

Narper 2018-01-28 19:28:28

In reply to anandgb

than more than half of the team.

That's the half than shouln't be in the side too

But his on field cappoship stinks...his bowling changes...his field placings

anandgb 2018-01-28 19:31:31

In reply to Narper

BeatDball 2018-01-28 19:38:58

The Trini way is, who has the best losing percentage.

WestDem 2018-01-28 20:16:34

Should we diminish Lara record because of his three stint as Captain? He suck worse than professional blow jobbers without a knife. I personally think Allyuh Trinis should go at it alone and left de rest of us to cuss each other! cool

FuzzyWuzzy 2018-01-28 20:17:41

In reply to WestDem

Amen

It would be nice to see the breakdown over the 3 stints

If the team been struggling for decades, how long ago before that was bravo captain?

Besides, Holder is a dismal failure despite having a team full of Balan stars. And we all know when Bajan cricket strong, West Indies strong.

Yuh nuh have he pun ignore tho.

Yes Holder’s record is vey poor but when I look harder I see that according to these stats we have been failing for 25 years across all Captains. So who will make it better do you think?

Narper 2018-01-28 21:19:29

Can someone compare these cappo stats with those of other international cappos since 1995

After all these years, you think I support players like Holder or Carlos as captains on any team.
I would be a hypocrite, I dislike Scabs, I dislike the Sammy selection, and I also disliked Jason and Carlos as West Indies captain
But this is about Dwayne Bravo's social media statement, comparing his losing record to others.

imusic 2018-01-29 01:06:38

When captains of the past were dropped for the teams failure interesting to see how things change now.

I would had supported his facts if there were in the winning column, but to compare his losing stats to others, need know further discussion

I think you are looking at the data with anger.

Win % of Stephen Fleming one of the famed captain is 48%. Arjuna Ranatunga too, the best captain of SL had a win Ratio of 48%. It just reflects that the team is can win on its day but not consistently.

My problem with the numbers is that, instead of finding someone who can take us from 48% to 50+% or building a team that can take us to 50%+ record we had brought it down. When someone asks, you said I am bad but why did you make it worse it has all the justification it needs.

Dont you think so?

Had a better record than gayle, holder, etc. 50% WIN RATIO, 2 ICC Tournament finals,1 icc trophy

Lara as ODI captain enjoyed good success. 3 Champions Trohpy finals, if you factor in the first ICC knockout tournament in 1998 in Dhaka..
