WI quicks dont seem to get any opportunity under the current domestic captains...

Bad times.

Just shows how bad the pitches are.

I would not blame the pitches but rather the captains for this approach. I am seeing this with most of the captains in the Caribbean.

Irrespective of the pitch condition a bowler needs a reasonable oppertunity to express himself. You just cant decide he is going to be of no impact. We had 2 promising young quicks who did well in the FC season and wanting to step ahead. And what we see is the captains just ignoring them.

Now the Spinners will bowl 10 overs each and the quicks will get the opportunity with the old ball.

England used pacers with the new ball but quickly switched to spinners. I saw Sri Lanka open the bowling with two spinners at this same venue a few months back.

I do not think they are injured. The captain is comfortable bowling the spinners than the quicks. Even refier bowled just 1 over before the responsibility is handed over to Warrican

Captains need to win and spinners are most likely to get the job done, sad truth.

If our pitches were more conducive to pace bowling they'd get more chances.

I'm with you on this. I was looking forward to getting a look at Joseph. Turn on to see spinners with new ball at both ends. Winning is fine but these matches are supposed to be developmental. These spinners will not trouble batsmen on good hard wickets.

No, we do not need to defeat England A. We need to develop our players. Joseph and Reifer should have been given more overs.

This is about exposing players at the (nearly) highest level... winning is actually rather unimportant... I would much rather 4 or 5 players emerge as real potential test material than win the series 3-0.
