Match-winning Century from Andre Russell

Slipfeeler 2018-02-15 12:57:32

Russell continues to regain his form that had made him the winnest cricketer for two years prior to his absence from the game, with a brillant century to save the Scorpions. In his previous match he had a knock of 51 not out, so the form seems to be coming back.

Now...if we can just get the rest of the Jamaican bats to all make meaningful contributions...

yesterday we had 3 front line batsmen make a total of 5 runs....you can't beat the top teams batting like that evil evil

Big bats are not performing consistently.

The rest Russell got due to the ban was a blessing in disguise...looks like his body is rested and fully healed....it will be murder in the international circuit....he will be WI trump card if we are to qualify for the WC

What is Russell's captaincy potential?

As I see it...only Shai Hope, Evin Lewis and Andre Russell are sure picks and real stars in WI ODIs....Gayle is always iffy because of injury these days.

Make him cappo....he will command the respect in the team...and could bring out the best in the others

In reply to Narper... make him cappo Yaad first, lets see if this is true at that level, then graduate him.

Russell has probably set his sight at maximizing his potential in t20

and nothing more

He can do both...ODI/T20s for WI and T20 circuit

Can't see Russell "committing" to CWI in order to be appointed chief ass kisser aka captain

If Russell, Lewis, Chase, Daddy Samuels, Braithwaite, Walton, Cottrrell and Mohammed are in form, we should have no problem winning regardless of who is the captain.

In reply to Slipfeeler... book marked.

By the same token Hope, Rovman, Warrican, Miller and Dowrich are preparing well.

He's in high demand for the world wide T20 tournaments so Windies captaincy should be out of the question.....

don't know of anyone beating down the door for Jason Holder's T20 services so leave him as the 1-day captain..

CWI is allowing the current WI T20I cappo Carlos Brathwaite to play T20s on the international circuit.

He does not have to be an ass kisser

Well thats how all WI skippers in the past 10 years have been appointed, or at least..had job security

NONE of those could command a place in the side like Russell can...and that is why I am saying his teammates will be solidly behind him....and NO ONE needs to be fired to create clear path to the cappoship

Back to back centuries from Russell, picking up from his performance prior to his absence from the game as the winnest cricketer in the world at that time.
