Narper 2018-03-01 20:47:31

New Delhi: The ICC World Cup Qualifier 2018 will be televised to fans for the first time ever, across five continents in 200 territories, the International Cricket Council announced on Thursday.

"Ten matches will be broadcast around the globe, significantly building on the four live-streamed match coverage previously seen at the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier in 2014 as the ICC continues to build its long-term partnerships with various broadcast partners to widen the reach of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier," the ICC statement read.

Commentary of the 19 camera coverage will come from seven person commentary panel – Ian Bishop, Mpumelelo Mbangwa, Lisa Sthalekar, Deep Dasgupta, Fazeer Mohammed, Mark Butcher and Dirk Nannes.

Hola...I suppose you have booked a cruise ticket on the Titanic or a flight on the HIndenburg....
man supports who he wants...many are very clever in disguising their true selves....and agenda...on this forum...I hope you are not one of them.
Zimbabwe is in ..you can throw your support there.
I am supporting anyone but WI...because WI should not had been in this position to have to qualify...WI cricketers dont care...
Ire/Zim and WI are the only countries in that qualifing mix that dont have cricket facilities etc..in UAE they play tape ball on parking lots and then play the red/white ball cricket...go figure...
So you have to admire that...WI is a spent force...
Maybe Fazeer is just a bit smarter than the rest.

Take care.
Adios

ICC is so inept they forgot that the '97 qualifier was also televised, but meh, who cares about facts in this day and age.

And only ten matches this time out? Mercy that's sparse. But again, not surprising.

Is the Caribbean still a Democratic region...

analyst-kid 2018-03-03 10:34:11

The warm-up scores of 115 and 110 are baffling though. WI played Eng and NZ, TWO of the best ODI teams in the world and didn't concede these low scores.

Maybe the batsmen are not motivated in the warm-ups or playing these associate teams...but they have to be

The bowling however looks strong and I take AFG going from 82/8 to 169/9 in ten overs to be due to surprise and complacency.

I really hope WI captain and players can take these qualifiers seriously and really apply themselves.

I tend to agree, it's almost as if they batsmen aren't applying themselves, when they ought to be.
Cause if you're not there to perform then why are you there?

It happens. When school teams play big teams in local cricket, many times the youngsters upstage their more experienced players simply because they bowl differently to the standards they are accustomed to, making them play too early, getting themselves bowled or trapped in front, or edging behind. Its just a matter of getting used to the different conditions and standard of play. Hopefully we will see a difference in the matches that matter.

Mikey, no sweat. WI should steam roll these guys.

runout 2018-03-06 02:39:45

WI 5-0 after 1

runout 2018-03-06 02:41:54

Evin Lewis, Chris Gayle, Shimron Hetmyer, Marlon Samuels, Shai Hope, Jason Mohammed, Jason Holder, Ashley Nurse, Nikita Miller, Kemar Roach, Sheldon Cottrell

runout 2018-03-06 02:45:52

7-0, 3 Overs

analyst-kid 2018-03-06 02:49:46

Cautious start by Wi as expected 13/0 in 4 overs...the cat and mouse game starts now....if these two openers bat past 10 overs into 20 they will make UAE pay dearly.

analyst-kid 2018-03-06 02:57:59

Interesting...the guy Hayat opening the bowling has 1 ODI wicket ave 53.00

analyst-kid 2018-03-06 03:03:49

A six and a four by Gayle...I wondered how long they will continue respecting this bowling clearly below regional level.

analyst-kid 2018-03-06 03:06:44

One of their better bowlers replaces Naveed....Mustafa....Gayle scores a four off him...48/0 in 7... WI already at 6 an over here.

analyst-kid 2018-03-06 03:14:03

First 10 overs completed 57/0......as I said these two guys bat to 20 it will be dangerous for UAE

analyst-kid 2018-03-06 03:40:33

The two spinners on in tandem has slowed down the scoring rate and taken the wicket of Lewis lbw for 31! 88/1. In 17 overs Gayle 50* in comes Hetmyer.

analyst-kid 2018-03-06 03:48:52

Hetmyer starts with two fours in his first over. 101/1 in 18 overs. AHetmyer 11 from 8.... Time for all these players like Hetmyer, Mohammed and Powell to boost their 20 avg against this sub regional bowling.

analyst-kid 2018-03-06 03:53:11

Can anyone recall when WI had three left hand batsmen as their first three?

Discourse 2018-03-06 08:45:39

A notable unknown....could have watched this inning

From a total of 235/10 (Papua New Guinea)

TP Ura c Porterfield b O'Brien 151

Losing cause tho, pity

Just off the top of my head I can recall Fredericks, Ron Headley & Kallicharan.

Ura's previous high score was something in the 60s, so a huge and well-needed knock in that context.
