Had that at a Carnival brunch years ago and a few times after. Nuff niceness especially no fussing with crab bones.

That and an exquisite coconut ice cream. Never had a better ice cream, made with real coconut jelly and liberal amount of condensed milk and cream.

Curry and Jerk ruins the flavour of fish, as far as I am concern.
Salt, fresh ground pepper and lemon will do for me.

Yes but curry crab is a light curry and the combo is quite good.

And what about the local pallet man with the small carriage bike that jacks up at the front with the cooler in the wooden box, with the pallet wrapped in grey or brown paper,I probably got the tail end of that era in my childhood..nice wholesome home made coconut palet.."PalleeeeeeeeeTTTE"!!! cool

Emir 2018-03-04 22:20:14

In reply to bravos

Yeah, the problem with street pallet was it needed a colder temperature to stay hold, unlike ice cream, so the pallet men profitability could sometimes literally melt away

I sold pallet as a young feller by the old train station in Four Roads

Brother, I am bigger than that- I tend to see and to focus on similarities and not small differences between our people.

I mean tink bout it- Chaguanas is differenet than POS and Penal is different than St CLair- but at the end of the day, we are all one.

You asked:
How yuh mean real coconut jelly?

There is a real jelly feel and taste, more pronounced than the coconut milk alone. It's like adding young jelly to the mix. I just guessing though.

So St James came after my time. In one of my recent visit I was taken to St James for the ice cream and I guess my expectation was different, it was good but it could not kindle the memories of the 3 wheel bicycle men with pale on tow. Those were the best coconut ice cream... ever..
