Trini Curry Crab Dumplings
In reply to Emir
Great twist!!! Iknew crab and dumplings could be enjoyed in a different way,and this is it!! Gonna show this to wifey, she's a crab and dumpling expert, you can drink the sauce infused with coconut milk and many spices etc..I can imagine that sauce with these!!
In reply to Emir
That is more Tobago curry crab and dumpling
In reply to Emir
Had that at a Carnival brunch years ago and a few times after. Nuff niceness especially no fussing with crab bones.
That and an exquisite coconut ice cream. Never had a better ice cream, made with real coconut jelly and liberal amount of condensed milk and cream.
In reply to bravos
Enjoy
In reply to DirtyDan
Ah, you like it sweet.
In my days the ice cream man rode a 3 wheel bicycle and the ice cream pale had an aloo bag wrapped around the it the cool in.
It was d best home coconut ice cream.
We also has sour soup and barbadeen ice cream- excellent taste.

Padner, Trinidad/Tobago same ting marn.
Curry and Jerk ruins the flavour of fish, as far as I am concern.
Salt, fresh ground pepper and lemon will do for me.
In reply to openning
Yes but curry crab is a light curry and the combo is quite good.
In reply to DirtyDan
And coconut milk...so it's not a harsh curry at all, kinda like a mild tikka sauce..
And yuh get de Trini "yes mammy" taste with that Ice Cream padna!!
In reply to Emir
And what about the local pallet man with the small carriage bike that jacks up at the front with the cooler in the wooden box, with the pallet wrapped in grey or brown paper,I probably got the tail end of that era in my childhood..nice wholesome home made coconut palet.."PalleeeeeeeeeTTTE"!!!
In reply to bravos
Yeah, the problem with street pallet was it needed a colder temperature to stay hold, unlike ice cream, so the pallet men profitability could sometimes literally melt away
I sold pallet as a young feller by the old train station in Four Roads
In reply to Emir
Spend some time in Tobago

Brother, I am bigger than that- I tend to see and to focus on similarities and not small differences between our people.
I mean tink bout it- Chaguanas is differenet than POS and Penal is different than St CLair- but at the end of the day, we are all one.

In reply to Chrissy
You asked:
How yuh mean real coconut jelly?
There is a real jelly feel and taste, more pronounced than the coconut milk alone. It's like adding young jelly to the mix. I just guessing though.
In reply to DirtyDan
Dais de Trini yes mammy taste..
SweetH!!
In reply to DirtyDan
I hear yuh - the three best coconut ice-creams in my life are my mum's, St James T&T and of course Devon House here in JA.
In reply to Chrissy

In reply to imusic

In reply to Chrissy
So St James came after my time. In one of my recent visit I was taken to St James for the ice cream and I guess my expectation was different, it was good but it could not kindle the memories of the 3 wheel bicycle men with pale on tow. Those were the best coconut ice cream... ever..
