ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – Following the eligibility amnesty announced last year, Cricket West Indies has now established a Technical Committee to advise its Selection Panel on the issue of players’ eligibility for selection.

Under the Terms of Reference, the Committee will also be responsible for reviewing and deciding upon requests for No Objection Certificates (NOCs), for reviewing the system used to determine WINDIES Men’s contract grades, as well as establishing a grading system for the award of retainer contracts for the WINDIES Women’s players.

The six-member committee will comprise the CWI Vice President (Chairman), Chairman of the Cricket Committee, Director of Cricket, the Chairman of Selectors, WINDIES Men’s Head Coach, WINDIES Women’s Head Coach and a nominee of the West Indies Players’ Association.

“The committee will serve as an important resource to the CWI Cricket Committee on specific cricket matters,” said CWI Director of Cricket Jimmy Adams.

At the last CWI Board meeting two Saturdays ago in Barbados, CWI’s Board of Directors approved a new policy that any player withdrawing from selected squads on two consecutive occasions will now have to write to the Chairman of Selectors to confirm that they wish to be considered for future selection.

“We have had a number of withdrawals in recent times and it has severely impacted on the Selection Panel’s ability to choose a settled squad for international matches,” said Adams.

“Going forward, this is one of the areas that the Technical Committee will have to adjudicate upon to bring more balance to the situation.

“The Directors’ decision to form a Technical Committee will allow for a more robust and efficient process to decide on player eligibility, player contract gradings and the awarding of NOCs.”

that their governance and Modus Operandi has for many years now failed

I have stated that when the ICC states that Governments must not intervene in Cricket that is nothing

THE ICC NEVER SHOWED UP ; WHEN ON 4

SEPARATE OCCASIONS , THE PRESIDENT OF

PAKISTAN FIRED THE PCB .


THE ICC DID NOT SHOW UP IN GUYANA

WHEN THE GOVERNMENT OF GUYANA TOOK

THE GCB TO COURT .

I cite the above to illustrate that
when the ICC states that Governments
must not intervene in Cricket ; it is
pure unadulterated B.S .

BTW , THE PRESIDENT OF THE BCCI

BROUGHT A LETTER TO THE INDIA SUPREME

COURT FROM THE ICC , THE LETTER WAS

IGNORED BY THE INDIA SUPREME COURT .

People need to understand that the
ICC is simply a Collection of International Cricket Boards who look out for each other .

Now this is precisely why the Governments going to the ICC is
simply an exercise in Futility .

THE REGIONAL GOVERNMENTS NEED TO TAKE

The Only thing that governments cannot do is govern Cricket forever . Once
Governments restore Order in Cricket , and there are Elections of Officers , then Governments must not intervene in
Cricket .

I advise ALL to Google the Formation
of Cricket Boards , it was by doing that I discovered the similarity between the BCCI & THE WICBC .

Get Rid of those in the Governance of West Indies Cricket , THEY have had enough time to do what is needed to be done , however they have bluntly refused to change their Modus Operandi.

That is precisely why THEY must be removed :

I simply would like ANY MEMBER of the
WICBC/CWI to publicly state why the
WICBC/CWI is bringing Persons from
Overseas to harness & hone the skills of Our Players when in the Region there are former Players who can do a much better job than those that come
here from Other Countries .

I recently read in this Forum that
23 former Players have passed Level 3
Examinations . My impression is that
the animosity towards Our Players by the WICBC/CWI , is a factor why Former Players are not Employed .

It is commendable that despite this vindictiveness , former Players have demonstrated that they are willing to help , I recall that Michael Holding
was on vacation in St. Vincent & the
Grenadines , and he had a bowling Session with Bowlers there .

WHY IS IT THAT THE PRESIDENT OF THE

WICBC/CWI CANNOT EMPLOYE HIS FELLOW

JAMAICAN , MICHAEL HOLDING TO BE A

BOWLING COACH FOR OUR PLAYERS ?????

I would have no problem if Michael Holding is employed to travel in the Region to see and select promising
Bowlers , for further training .

Similarly , Sobers ; Kanhai , Richards & others can do the same thing regarding Batsmen .

Unfortunately this has not yet dawned
on the Incompetent People in the WICBC , neither has it dawned on their SYCOPHANTS in the Media .

Court of India verbally slapped around the BCCI Officials , and removed the President of the BCCI for
not implementing the changes recommended by the Lodha Committee .

To those who disbelieve what I have
stated Google the LODHA COMMITTEE REPORT . The edict by the ICC regarding Governments is nothing more
than Horse manure .

Find out where was the ICC when on 4
separate occasions , the President of
Pakistan fired the PCB . Where was the ICC when the Government of Guyana
took the GCB to Court .I do not recall the WICBC/CWI , APPEARING IN COURT , OR THE ICC .

THE PRESIDENT OF THE BCCI WAS FIRED

FROM HIS OFFICIAL POSITION AS

PRESIDENT OF THE BCCI BYHE SUPREME

COURT OF INDIA ; BECAUSE HE WAS TARDY

IN IMPLEMENTING THE CHANGES

RECOMMENDED BY THE LODHA COMMITTEE .

The Supreme Court of India also disciplined the Secretary of the
BCCI . I cite the above to state that
a delegation of Prime Ministers going
to the ICC is a JUNKET , due to the fact that there aint no difference between the ICC and the International
Cricket Boards .

THE ICC IS MADE UP OF OFFICIALS OF

THE INTERNATIONAL CRICKET BOARDS SO

GOING TO THE ICC IS AN EXERCISE IN

FUTILITY .

Point, you find work outside of SVG, Gibson is the HC of SA and Simmons is the HC of Afghanistan.

It is this utter Stupidity why I believe that there should be One Entity , with 2 Departments , An Administrative Department & a Cricket
Department .

The Cricket Department will deal with
All matters pertaining to Cricket and staffed with Former Great Players .

The Administrative Department will
deal with All other Matters , eg Financial Sponsors etc . The Administrative Department will have no say in the Selection of Players , Coaches ;or on the Field activities .

Coaching and being a player, so much different.
I am not going to debate the Stanford legions, because just like the former players, played county cricket, a number of players are on the T20 circuit, that playing experience resulted in two championship.
