This might have been billed as the day international cricket came back to Karachi, but take that with a pinch of salt. A whole tablespoon, rather. The team Pakistan played against today - and beat by 143 runs - was in no universe international standard. Thirteen individuals cobbled together whose only unifying characteristic was their willingness to travel to Pakistan, they were never a match for the top-ranked T20I side. Especially not if you consider they had arrived in Pakistan from halfway around the world just 24 hours ago (the squad having only been announced late in the early hours of Friday morning), with barely enough time to shake off their jetlag before they were sped to the National Stadium to face off against Pakistan. In all senses of the phrase, this simply wasn't cricket.</p>

HEADLINE: Jet-lagged West Indies slump to massive defeat
In reply to CaribbeanCricket.com
I think it was all part of the plan.
Under the guise of security, the team was 'rushed' in at the last moment, jet-lagged, and with no opportunity to practice and get locally acclimatized.
All this to ensure that a home team victory was assured, and the locals appeased (not upset, that is).

Well the article says it all, the players were not prepared for the match, they needed a day at least to settle and prepare mentally for the game.

I wonder how a Board of Directors can meet, look each other in the eye and not ask for resignations.
My only sense of reasoning is, that it's not the West Indian way, after looking at the past two decades of futility incompetence and promises.

You sure about that Drapes? I am certain a Lara led WI side toured Pak in 2006.
Cameron, Brown and others continue to embarrass us. Why would you pick a team to tour Pakistan on Friday and first match on Sunday? If watching a more senior WIndies team play world cup qualiying matches against teams we never heard before was not embarrassing enough then surely what we saw today was surely disgraceful!
An investigation should be done regarding how much money/favors passed under the table or bed for these kids to be thrown into battle?? unprepared.
They took till 2 days before to round up a playing 11.
