St John’s, ANTIGUA With less than 400 days to go before the Cricket World Cup 2019 and with four away international series, another round of its premier regional competitions, Cricket West Indies (CWI) will assemble 10 of the best young and upcoming fast bowlers in the region. They will participate in a fast bowling camp from April 30- June 30 in Antigua.
The camp will focus on a high-performance program which will hasten the bowlers’ development, aimed at getting them ready for international cricket, while preparing them to be available for selection onto the WINDIES Senior and A Teams.
The Selection Panel of CWI believes these players are the “core of the bunch” of young fast bowlers in the West Indies.
CWI’s Director of Cricket, Jimmy Adams is excited for this camp, indicating it could be the first of many, as, “the long-term goal is that this program could be annual, including but not limited to this group. After an assessment of this camp, the team will determine when the next one will be. We will keep identifying our core group of emerging talent and the broader view is that we can eventually run the program not just for fast-bowlers but in the key areas of cricket.”
The high-performance team of Richard Pybus and Graeme West will also include Roddy Estwick, Curtly Ambrose and support staff.
The bowlers selected for this camp include:
Dominic Drakes
Chemar Holder
Keon Joseph
Shermon Lewis
Jeremiah Louis
Keemo Paul
Raymon Reifer
Romario Shepherd
Odean Smith
Oshane Thomas
The camp will be based at the Coolidge Cricket Ground, Antigua - home of West Indies Cricket.

Hola...Really????? Fast bowlers????what speed do those selected for this camp generate consistently.???
A better camp would be to get players who can run and chase ball.

I am not sure how these bowlers were selected, but I support this move. Too often in the last 10 years, we have produced half-baked slow bowlers, who cannot trouble international batsmen.

The Government of Antigua & the WICBC are currently Joint Owners of what
used to be Stanford's Ground .
The Headquarters of the WICBC/CWI I
believe is also in Antigua .

I tell the Truth all the Time , the
problem is that many in this Forum bluntly refuse to accept the TRUTH .
When I state that the WICBC/CWI needs to be restructured . Many People in this Forum get upset .
When I state that both those in the
governance of West Indies & the Players need to be respectful to each other My Critics come down with Writers Cramp .

The truth: Many people think they own the truth.
And this is why they rage and foam at the mouth when others disagree with their 'truth'.
Like, don't challenge me because I'm sosoo.. correct.
This is a human failing that should at least evoke pity, or at most evoke fear.
Because those who don't want to be challenged eventually become tyrants.

It aint lack of Good Fast Bowlers are
the only Problem regarding the competitiveness of Our Players in the
International Cricket Arena .
No mention was made about the longevity of Our Batsmen at the crease . Or Fielding or Catching .
Just as important than the above however in my opinion , is having sensible
Persons in the governance of West
Indies Cricket , who are very interested in the Region having a
Competitive Team in the International
Cricket Arena .

What took you guys so long? This is what I have been shouting over the past few years. Fast bowling has been the forte of West Indies cricket since the days of Hall and Griffith. It is what brought West Indies to the pinacle of world cricket. It was a mistake for the West Indies to neglect this area of their game for so long while trying to play other teams' kinds of game. When you have a fearsome group of fast bowlers to go at another team, you are giving your batsmen, fielders and others the opportunity to shine. That's what brought West Indies to the top. And I am confident that with good leadership it can happen again.

Hola...rhatid what b/s comment..where have you been the past 20 years???West indies have been using 4 and 5 prong all the time...except the 4/5 prong slow like molasses..
them think the bowlers are fast..nevertheless the 4 prong that brought WEST INDIES SUCCESS WAS BECAUSE THE BATSMEN IN THAT ERA COULD NOT HOLD A BAT TO SAVE DEH DAMN SOUL..
And since then batsman worldwide became competent and skillful..pace and fire means shit to them...we produced the molasses boys and the other teams had runaway trains..
So my brother Rhatid please crawl back under that rock you came out from and visit us in another 20 months..until then we await your revelation.
