Thanks.
It seems interesting that Blackwood a test campaigner is left out of the final 11 ( assuming there is no injury ).
Why put a man with a good number of tests behind him in the squad if you don't play him ???
I am not necessarily a Blackwood fan , I am questioning the generic logic of leaving out a man just dropped from the test 11.
202/2....is WI setting up Sri Lanka here? This pitch is dead and slow...QPO is much livelier.

we may be giving a little too much credit here.

Thank you for the score, however the WI websites should do a better job providing it.

Our bowlers are absolute dunces, look at how many boundaries and extras alone make up that score smh!
Cornwall bowled 26 overs, more than any other bowler and took 2 wickets. Yet according to those idiot selectors, he is not fit enough to play for the Windies. And check his A team stats. He also bowled more overs than anyone else. And people wonder why our cricket is going to hell.
Discrimination can't done.
In reply to bobby
All teams consistently struggle against Cornwall. However, apparently he is not athletic or agile enough for international level i heard the commentators saying yesterday (he unfortunately drops a few catches which doesn't help when Courtney Browne is in the stands watching, including yesterday) but i agree Cornwall is one of our top bowlers by far and if senior batsmen from other teams are struggling against him this needs to be given some weight (no pun intended)
And CWI of course, bring Sri Lanka, an Asian / spin-specialist team, to the most spin friendly country in the Caribbean to start the tour and give them ample match practice...i mean anyone would dare think CWI have West Indies Cricket's best interest at heart
In reply to bobby
If Cornwall is fit, he should play. Forget about looks. Show then a pic of babe ruth.
In reply to Judgement
The majority of the current West Indies team cannot bat, bowl, field or catch to international standards. So what is the problem? At least Cornwall can bat and bowl.
In reply to bobby
The problem is a (big) obvious one.
SL 422/9
SL 428 all out Warrican 4/81 from 29.4 overs
...watch SL spinners bother WI now

You realize baseball players don't run as much as the average cricketer right?
In reply to rockstarxxx
Exactly. They don't play 3 or 5 day games for a start

Some People are excited to see Cornwall in the WI test team, but they are overlooking Warrican, he has been consistently more effective that any other spinner against international teams lately. Also, how is it the Selectors are persisting with Brooks and Singh over Blackwood, who has shown some potential at the International level more than the two.
In reply to dayne
And more consistent than Warrican at the first class level is Nikita Miller.
It is time for Cornwall to be selected
In reply to openning
Way, way, way time for Cornwall to be selected!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What idiots could think Bishoo in 2018 should be selected before Cornwall! Absurdity!
In reply to solidrock
In two weeks time Cornwall will be on his way to England with the A team.
What's happened to this match? Abandoned?
In reply to mikesiva
Looks like it mate.
Is Blackwood injured?
I refuse to believe that a current test player could be omitted from an A team final eleven for any other reason.
In reply to jacksprat
No, he's not injured and Pybus is in charge of the A team. That should tell you everything
[b]In reno body there to give us a score? Only games in WI not updated on a regular basis. We have to wait for the next day to get a score???

We have established the Miller has set the benchmark, so the comparison as I understand it was Warrican vs. everyone else including Cornwall.
Just for the record FC stats:
Miller: 36yrs/95 matches/497wickets/ave: 16/ 50 strike rate
Warrican: 26/48/208/19/47
Clearly the younger buck doesn't lose anything in comparison even with the mighty Miller.
The point remains, why the always fuss always about Cornwall if only as a bowler when others can be part of the convo. For the record, I think both should be around the first team squad before a Bishoo and play according to pitch conditions.
In reply to mikesiva
John Campbell a potential prospect as an opener who is capable of bowling several overs for WI. Imagine the added depth of WI if both openers are capable of strong bowling performances.
