you making a good point and drawing good comments in return. When I watch Devon bat I see too much glaring technical deficiencies to be a consistent heavy scorer. Not that you can't have technical deficiencies and be a consistent scorer but your style must suit your strengths. And you must be committed to your strengths. In Devon case he will have to put away the off drive much like Larry Gomes did for most of his test career. He will concentrate on being an excellent puller, cutter and hooker as he will get most of his runs off his back foot. He will have to be an excellent judge of line since he is going to leave a lot of balls outside the off.

In Devon case he will have to put away the off drive much like Larry Gomes did for most of his test career.
He's not a tall man....but I feel he can make a better effort to stretch that front leg out when he's driving.

I'm really happy with the way we played through the five days. Weather permitting, there was a chance, but pleased overall. Credit to the West Indies bowling attack, they've got some good bowlers. It's hard to score big runs under these conditions. We have to improve a little more. We went in with Akila Dananjaya this game, it was a tactical call. Rangana is a legend. I thought Akila bowled well. Credit also to Gabriel, his hard work has paid off.

Hola...dont turn the other cheek..I was all for giving Dev Smith a recall..he did get it...but he should not be allowed to play in the 3rd test..
The past 2 test has confirmed that Mr.Smith is good only at the regional level and he should stay there.However if CWI wants to give him a free ride so be it..I say take it Smitty with both hands..if the clowns from Barbados wants Smitty to be a freeloader..I say let the good times roll.
