Damn. Didn’t Chase have a mid 40’s average in test cricket just up to last year after the series against Pakistan? He went to England touted as the team’s best batsman and a rising star in test cricket.

Now in a year, he’s averaging 34? Dropping 10 points in a year is worrying. Not even Devon Smith can match that.

Precipitous decline is an understatement

Same line-up next series. These "proper batsmen" will be persisted with because of the "investment"

Anyone who’s averaging below 30 after 15 tests+ should be discarded.
