11.5
Miguel Cummins to Shakib, FOUR, even a better shot. Gee! What timing. What connection. Miguel Cummins changes the angle this time, Shakib gets just a little bit of width and he pounces onto it. Drives it crisply through cover
11.4
Miguel Cummins to Shakib, FOUR, terrific shot from Shakib. It wasn't even a fuller length ball, Shakib identifies the length early, gets himself in a terrific position and drives it powerfully through cover

Narper 2018-07-13 14:38:41

In reply to jala

Chase into the attack

12.1
Roston Chase to Tamim, no run, fuller length delivery around off, goes on the back foot and blocks back

shock shock

In reply to culpepperboy

Comes back on

13.2
Miguel Cummins to Tamim, no ball, 1 run, another no-ball

13.1
Miguel Cummins to Shakib, no ball, Miguel Cummins oversteps. It was on a fuller length and at the stumps, Shakib defends to square leg

15.1

VoopsandOut 2018-07-13 17:47:29

we wont be enforcing the follow on. What utter nonesense is that!!! So if Windies comes up against a team that can actually bat, their bowlers are unable to bowl for an entire day??????? What is going to be our position then? Sorry, but this is another IDIOTIC decision by the captain to go with batting first in Barbados.

That was a superb decision.
We will bat again score 300 tomorrow and then declare.
By then all the bowlers properly rested.

hawk 2018-07-13 18:07:47

In reply to VoopsandOut

let me explain

usually a follow on would be enforced but you must take into account the circumstances

Gabriel in the pavilion being nursed
Paul got cramps
holder a twinge in his shoulder
Cummins is very iffy

and you want to enforce a follow on..... does that make sense
would it not be better to let your bowlers rest and bat Bangladesh out of the game under those circumstances???

but what? Was Jala right or not?

Jala's initial point was that Holder was showing unfair preference for Cummins over Paul by taking Paul off after only 3 overs and bringing on Cummins. Mind you, Holder opened the bowling with Paul, and in the end the overs ended up being pretty evenly distributed among the bowlers. So you tell me if he was right.

BOWLING O M R W ECON WD NB
ST Gabriel 10 3 19 2 1.90 0 0
KMA Paul 9 2 25 2 2.77 0 3
ML Cummins 9 1 34 1 3.77 0 4
JO Holder 10.1 1 44 5 4.32 0 1
RL Chase 8 0 22 0 2.75 0 0

Man alyuh could spin to defend....all alyuh could apply for WH jobs under Sarah

Holder took the new ball away from Paul after 3 overs...that was jala's justified grouse ....Holder proceeded to bowl all the other fast bowlers in multiple spells ...including bowling Chase ....BEFORE bringing back Paul

Walco 2018-07-13 18:57:14

In reply to Narper

I did not see Paul bowl today, but it struck me as odd that someone would complain about a rookie fast bowler who was going for more than 4 per over at the time being taken off after 3 overs.

I actually expected Holder or Cummins to open the bowling with Gabriel, not Paul. So I was pleasantly surprised to see that Paul opened. I tend not to fall into the trap of attributing bad motives to any player on a cricket field when I am not occupying space in his head.

By the way, Paul will be a fixture in my FL teams going forward ...

You see Holder has been guilty in the recent years with respect to severely under bowling Bishoo....even the commentators point this out over and over....a recent series even Mike Holding was highly annoyed with Holder's treatment of Bishoo...

so it is not difficult to assume Holder is doing the same with Paul...another muddie...in favour of bajan bowlers

To be honest, Bishoo is among the worst International wrist spinners in the game, he is limited in variation.
Thats the way I see this wrist spinner.

Is that your spin and justification????

If he is selected to play in the playing XI then the fcukin cappo has an obligation to bowl him...bottom line

Isn't Holder the worst international captain in the fuckin game...afterall WI is ranked #9....what is Holder's record as a cappo?

Isn't WI #3,#4 #5 and #6....the worst international batsmen in the fcukin game??????

Your argument stinks

You were here on this board right....Hopper was condemned for no bowling Jeremy....Lara was condemned for inserted crack finder Dillon

Why is it only bajans can't see Holder deliberately underbowl Bishoo

The international comms see it and comment on it

he is obviously trying to break Bishoo's confidence and spirit....I can't see any other reason

And this has NOTHING to do with whether Bishoo is international class or not....he DID NOT select himself...if he doesn't get to bowl he can't be assessed...if he can't be assessed then his place in the team is questioned...then he is dropped....good riddance... cappo happy...another spot open for another bajan

The last top batsman the region has produced are, Lara, Shiv, Sarwan and Gayle
We have not produced a great fast bowler since Walsh and Ambrose
Lance was the last great spinner
I like the attitude of Rutherford and Hetmyer , I am a total fan of Springer from Barbados, solely base on what I saw at the U19 World Cup, but I put Springs in the category of a number of people without a voice or is privileged

You see Holder has been guilty in the recent years with respect to severely under bowling Bishoo

Yes, Bishoo has been under-bowled by Holder in the past, but not during these home series. And I don't get how you go from under-bowling to Holder being anti-Guyanese. The more likely reason for Bishoo's underuse is that his captain lacks confidence in him. Also, I don't think it is a fair criticism that Holder has under-bowled Bishoo recently. The pace-friendly wickets and low scores have pretty much rendered the spinners unnecessary except for the Trinidad test. Plus I don't see Bishoo sulking on the field or otherwise showing signs of not being one of the boys around his teammates.

so it is not difficult to assume Holder is doing the same with Paul...another muddie...in favour of bajan bowlers

It may not be difficult to assume but your assumption is pure speculation. Remember when Jaggernauth played one test for WI when Sarwan was captain. He bowled several overs in the first innings, but only got a few overs in the second innings, and never played for WI again. Was Sarwan anti-Trini because he underused Jaggernauth and then discarded him? Or did Sarwan lose confidence in Jags after he went for runs in the first few overs of the second innings?
