ANDRE Russell and Chris Gayle have been selected to bolster the Windies squad to face Bangladesh team in the first three One Day Internationals that are the start of the regional team’s build-up to the 2019 ICC World Cup.
The first match is scheduled for Guyana’s Providence Stadium on July 22.
“This is the start of our prep for 2019 CWC,” said head coach Stuart Law, “opportunities for players to stake a claim to be included in the squad. Great to have Dre Russ back as well. His explosive power and energy will breathe life into an already motivated squad.”
Chairman of Selectors Courtney Browne echoed Law’s sentiments especially as it relates to giving players the opportunity to stake claim to be in the side when the two-time world championships begin their campaign for what has been an elusive title.

So, the Yardie "Stars" have been picked, what about the Trinis'?
Cameron, Wavell, Adams, appear to be doing great service to and for their countrymen.

Hola...team was selected on merit..Lewis and Mohamed from Trinidad are in...the only other Trini that can make this team is Narine...and he is just interested in T20...
The other Trinis..Pollard,Simmo,Emrit,Bravo etc..are just wanting to play T20...dont blame selectors...blame your countrymen whom I do no FAULT..let them make the money..why risk injury?

Why is Mohammed still being persisted with if the Selectors are looking into the future, Ambris might be a better futuristic pick.

If you picking based on performance then Blackwood should be in the squad ahead of Powell.. man had a decent 50 over tour in England..

Seems Drapsey fooled you. It does not surprise me since you and some others are primed to see insularity everywhere. For your information Drapsey in not a Trini, in spite of the pro Trini sentiments in his post.

Hola...as long as that superhuman DReRUSS is in ..we very straaaaang..Gayle eyes gaaan and he a bit lazy in the field...but if the man come and lash up things then power to him..
I respect Gayle when he put his hand up and went to Zim country for qualifiers...he did not have to....but he did...so he got my support.

What has Gayle done recently?
He cant even score in Canada.
Reputation I say.
Which I can also say is diminishing rapidly.

Have to agree! I would pick Blackwood for the WC Squad!
At least get him in the squad now and see if he can cut it!
I wouldnt have picked Powell!
